You can hate Bob Arum all you want (and the hate would be warranted), but he made Manny Pacquiao who he is today. For that matter, he also made Floyd Mayweather who he is today. You can say that Oscar De La Hoya propelled him to superstar status, but Floyd needed Top Rank for the first half of his career. This is a very fresh pragmatic opinion. I would like to say I share your sentiments. But I just dont see it that way. I see it as abuse of position and power. Much like a single firm monopolising an industry. It may provide a service but it is at a great social cost.
