It's not difficult to have killer instinct against a target that is there to be hit. Pac gets frustrated when when he can't find his target or is having difficulty landing, after that point he sort of just gets comfortable with it, because he doesnt have the capacity to make a opening. The only plan B he has is to go on the ropes or stand infront of the person guarding to lure them in to attack so he can attack. Mosley started to run after he got KD. Surely people would've called Pac a killer if Mosley kept standing in front of him, with his no head movement and lack of a real solid jab ass, got KO'd, which is what would have happened had he continued. But no, mosley ran away and since Pac doesn't know how to cut off the ring good, and just get frustrated, that's what happened. That guy from Africa, all he did was cover up and through the occasional uppercut. Pac got frustrated... because he didn't know how to break through his defenses. And Marquez just outboxed him and took advantage of Pac's poor inside fighting capability and his so-so ring cutting off skills. When cotto boxed he had some success and Pac got frustrated and basically yelled at cotto to come on and stand in front of him and trade lol.
*******s say this *******s say that.....blah blah. He's lost one fight in the past ten years, took on all comers, beat living legends such as MAB, Morales, DLH and Cotto decisively. Put on 25 lbs and still fighting at elite level. What more do you want? If you're a boxing fan and you aren't a borderline ******* you're a ****ing idiot.
God, so many people here are dense? This has nothing to do with Pac vs Mayweather. It's an observation that we all notice. I remember round 10 in Mosley fight that he was pissed and wanted to take Mosley's head off. That is the killer instinct I am talking about instead of touching gloves and throwing arm punches.
dude, he lost the killer instinct when he was fighting margarito. he left him off and carried him in the final rounds of the fight.
I'll have to rewatch the cotto fight as I don't remember him putting the type of pressure you're saying he did on Cotto. But I admittedly don't recall the entire fight. I admit he let off the gas on Margarito, but I don't think it was a change from the Cotto fight... I think thats just the last fight he stopped someone people thought he might lose to so people cling onto it.
If Pac couldn't get his killer instinct back for his great rival JMM, it's probably gone for good. I think his political career means he doesn't want to be perceived as a brutal fighter anymore. The Pac who dismantled Barrera and Morales then punished Hatton and Cotto would not have allowed Margo to finish or been so toothless against Mosley. I expect Pac to use his speed and angles to outfight Bradley, but I'm not expecting a bloodbath.
Manny looks great against a style, and is very one dimensional!Anyone who knows boxing understands this.If you threw punches the way Manny does but didn't have handspeed, you would get battered! His speed is his asset, definitly not his technique! So if he fights someone who has good footwork and not afraid of a speedster, they can make it difficult for him. Manny still has the killer instinct but his opponents are more aware of his game.I dont think Manny will look fantastic anymore because he has been figured out. I'm not saying he is an easy fight but easier than when he first moved up and his opponents thought he was too small and could wlk him down.
Well with Mosley he said he had a cramp, so give him the benefit of the doubt. JMM, as we all know is a stylistic nightmare for Pac, and he tried to fight a more disciplined fight, so perhaps we shouldn't use that as a gauge just yet. So for me, this fight with Bradley will be the one to judge.
I don't think the killer instinct was gone for the JMM fight. JMM simply nullified it. As people have mentioned, he showed killer instinct is his fight previous to JMM, being Mosley, although this was only showed in certain rounds. His killer instinct is more on display against fighter who come forward, are somewhat stationary, and are there for Pac to unleash his incredible skills/killer instinct. Against a fighter that moves, Pac generally seems to get frustrated, and while the killer instinct is still there, his frustration turns this killer instinct into "wildness".
