Keeping this away from the general, you boys know your stuff watched the 24/7 and im a little concerned about this upcoming fight. Is it all smoke or is it legit that his mind is on other things. Would like your opinions please! its just that i was gonna put a few quid on pac by ko now im not so sure.:good
I think Pac wins in a tougher than expected fight. It'll go to the scoercard IMO and Margo will give him a a few scares.
All the "Pac is not focused" stuff is just bull. But how Marg looks in training is fairly impressive. I mean, if his chin was weakened by weight issues in the Mosley fight, and if it will be back to normal here it could be interesting. Pac hardly hits harder than Mosley anyway. If Margarito can walk through punches like he used to, well it could be interesting.
im thinking pac on points in a closer than expected fight. I think if Margarito has success earlier in the fight than Pac could be in for a long night becuase if pac is struggling when his speed advantes are more pronounced then Margarito is going to be building up a head of steam late on. IF Margarito can land heavy shots and push Pac back out of his optimal punching range then the size and reach desparity could well come into play. That said i think early rounds Pac will be in and out without too much trouble in the early rounds and it how much Toney's body work and uppercuts effect pac will dictate how the fight ends up. On a side note whos the bigger puncher Cotto or Tony?
i have a feeling this will be a bridge too far for pac man though i hope im wrong if clottey had thrown more punches he would have had a chance to win that fight margarito looks huge compared to pac man and im not sure pac man is as motivated as he was before but all in this could lead to a better close fight
Margarito is to pedestrian and sloppy to beat a speed demon, energizer bunny like Pacquiao. Margarito will stalk and apply a lot of pressure as usual, so he can lay his foundation (body work). This will play into Pacquiao's hands. You can NOT disrespect and follow Pacquiao around. To me the fight comes to Manny and his herky jerky awkward sideways punches finds Margarito early and often. The speed of Pacquiao, his brillient footwork and stamina is so key. I'm not even sure Margarito can even walk through a helicopter blade to get his game started anymore tbh. He's been in a lot of wars himself and took some huge punishment from Mosley. Pacquiao will win a wide decision IMO. The only slight problem i see for Pacquiao is in my opinion, by making this fight at 150lbs they've done Margarito, a career welterweight a big favor. He can make the weight more comfortabily then rehydrate and eat pasta to 65/66, which can play a part in this fight. I really don't see Margarito's wide shots being able to handle Manny's straighter, darting punches and getting off first, but the only thing i'm somewhat reserved with is Margarito's 5'11" frame and the way he can weigh up. Plus Margarito has a brillient uppercut if he can trap Pacquiao on the ropes or can get him to stand still. Manny can be a sucker for that left uppercut, which Margarito throws deceptively well. Although i think the reason he got caught with it against Clottey was, he was trying to make Joshua open up and deliberately stood there. Won't be the case against Margarito i don't think.
I wouldnt rule it out. Margarito is a live underdog here and looks to be training like a ****in animal. I think Pac will win in a grueling fight.
Margo is a rough and tough fighter who is all about intangiables. On the pads his technique ain't bad. In the ring he fights with wreckless abandon. Pac is another level of skill and talent. Eventually he'll fight someone who is just too big. Pac is distracted and Margo wants redemption. 24/7 are using that angle for hype but I think it is also very real. It's a really good match up. One that Pac took easily. Floyd didn't face the genuinely big guys who poised a threat like Margo and Williams. Head to Head, Floyd is as good as Pac but when judging their careers going into each fight, Pac takes it by a landslide. Pac vs DLH, Cotto, MAB, EM, JMM etc are all 50-50 fights if not underdog.
