Pac's coming off two loses. He needs an 'easy' fight to get back in the game and make him look good. If he doesn't do well against the lower grade opposition he will perhaps know to call it quits and if he blows him away then he has the option to fight on. I'm not a Manny fan but this is fairly standard practice in the sport and the guy is potentially coming back off an extremely brutal knockout so fair play to him.
Considering he couldn't get Bradley or marquez, and it's clear he tried hard, this is the next best available fight. Everyone goes on abouit cherry picking but no one actually comes up with a name he should actually fight which is a doable match-up? How easy is this? Pacquiao got KTFO bad, his chin might be gone. Now he's in against a heavy hitter in Rios, a guy whose more likely to KO Pacquiao than someone like Bradley - if he got Bradley people would be saying "A cherry pick, he's up against someone with no power" It's just silly - some objectivity would be good. I've said I can't really criticise Mayweather's choice of Guerrero on paper, though Guerrero is sub-standard, no skill, no power, no speed, a blown up lightweight - yet Rios, a guy who can hurt someone, especially someone who no longer has a chin according to many, is a cherrypick? I clearly don't know how these things work - what I do know is it's a much more entertaining fight on paper than the last fight I saw, which let's be fair, great defensive skill, nice accurate right leads, but boring as hell in terms of excitement
Rios is too big a risk for a comeback if anything. Clearly a lot of posters here don't understand the potential effects of a KO like the one Pac suffered in his last fight. The residual effects of professional boxing can devastate the lives of fighters. Fans should show a bit more respect.
The same posters who were saynig Pac's chin is gone, he can't take it, he's finished are the same guys going that hard-hitting Rios is a cherry-pick - this is the art of the troll, no consistency or logic applied
You do realize he's coming off a serious knockout, right? ******. Funny thing is, Mayweather-Guerrero and Pacquiao-Rios are both about the same level, tune-up material.
