he just chooses not to? so, you're saying pac's attack is easy to do? despite floyd's speed, he can't do what pac does. his speed is defensive speed, lateral speed, whereas pac's is forward, bull-like. there are many quick and skilled featherweights, but why are they not doing what pac does. answer: its not easy to do. aside form speed, you have to have guts and PBF doesn't have any of it.
You have a point, but do you wanna put some legacy in your stint before you retire? People get remembered because of what they've done, not because of what they have'nt done, and to add to it, people watch boxing because they want to be entertained, they want somebody to box, boxers get remembered because they threw this, and not because they evaded a punch, I mean you have to throw something good to win. BTW, just a question... Was PBF a defensive fighter early in his carrer?
legacy? dude. pbf may just retire as the only undefeated fighter, i think, who ended his carrer at the top of the p4p list. how's that for legacy? IMO, almost all fighter were offensive minded at the start of their careers. they were young and careless and just want to knock everybody out. then you mature and you realize that your body could only take so much beating. then you improve your defense. MAB is a prime example for this. he was a puncher before but after back to back loses to jones, he reinvented himself and turned into a boxer puncher. i hope that answers your question. i think filipino fans are hard to please because of what pac has showed. the whole country appreciate ofense more than defense. filipinos can't seem to appreciate good defense as they want to see their fighters get hit in the head and hit right back ala pacman so i understand where you are coming from
hmmn..generalizing again, we are picking between pacman and floyd, hence i prefer pac over him, stylewise. but to say filipinos dont appreciate defensive boxing is BS, Donaire, Amonsot, penalosa are filipino fighters we equally backup and thats because of their defensive styles, but it is actually different from PBFs' because you still see these boxers go on the offensive and actually go toe to toe. As for safety, ofcourse i'd go for PBF, but safe players bore me and i guess most boxing fans too.:bbb
floyd's defence easily. some of the blinded ones on here talk as if mayweather has no attacking qualities.
you didn't just say that boy. equally back up? with pac? no way dude. that is bullcrap. i doubt that you have seen a nonito donaire fight before he fought vic. you can't deny that most filipinos get bored to death when they watch fights with two tacticians. you think you can make filipinos watch winky-tito without half of them saying that the fight was boring? almost all the filipino's here like johnco have put pac on top on top of their p4p list because he is more exciting than pbf. here's an example here's a post by another filipino that will debunk your claim when pac bangs his gloves after being hit you say that's his signature. but when other fighter you claim to equally support, you get annoyed. got this from the pinoy thread. are you still going to claim that you support your fighters equally? are you still going to say that you like defensive fighter as much as offensive fighters?
thats all cool and **** but if with pacmans style you wont last very long. pbf if had balls could have potentially beaten every top fighter from 130 to 147 with his style and hence create a better legacey even though his resume far outshines pacmans.
i notice a lot of people saying they'd rather have mannys style because it is more entertaining, that may be the case for the fans, but do you think when manny is getting involved in brutal exchanges he's thinking to himself, "wow this is so entertaining, i love getting my face pummelled"? **** off, floyds defence everyday, i'd like to still think straight once i'd retired.
You got me all wrong, but I understand, maybe we just have different views, and even before PAC came, I grew up watchng great fights of Bobby chacon, Bazooka limon, Roberto duran etc..I guess you how this guys box, they have losses within their career, but the way they fought cannot be disregarded. I just guess I'm not a fan of Defensive Boxing, pardon me.
so you gave 2 posters:huh...and they dont represent the whole nation. I have seen nonito and glenn before, read articles about them and by saying equally backed up, thats true! its just that pac is so much more popular not only in the philippines compared to the rest of our fighters, and it only magnifies manny even more, but that doesnt mean we care less about the others.:-(
Whoa I got quoted... Nope I didn't get irritated Amonsot because of his style... I got irritated with him because he could've won it had he done something different... Actually I'm biased for Filipino fighters in general... Any fight with a Filipino I will watch irregardless of styles...
PBF so I stayed pretty. Pacquaios "offense" is one dimensional and predictable anyway, a boxer like Mayweather would make him look like ****. Shouldn't really be bringing his non existent jab and occassional straight left into the debate. Should've maybe said Trinidads offense - In which case I'd still rather defend like Mayweather.
