Pacman requested to Arum to make diaz's purse 1million us dollars

On the live telecast they said that Diaz was getting 800k plus a slice of the PPVs should the buys exceed a certain number.

So at worst they sold 200K buys @ $50= $10 million. I'm sure Diaz got his million.

 

Diaz did come across like an honest guy in the interview afterwards.Had me in stitches with his loose tongue !

 

I think Pac is a bad ass fighter but Pac fans make people not like Pac. They are exactly just that... Pac fans not BOXING fans. I dont hate though because Pac gives Pinoys a reason to be proud, and sometimes their joy and way of celebrating pisses people off. By the way Im knew to this site but not the boxing scene.

 

Tito did the same thing when he fought Winky, gave him a million from HIS purse and he got his ass kicked..:scaredas:

At least Manny did that for the "proverbial" punching bag...

not just filipinos. Everyone does it. I remember tito fans were really bad, i was rooting for DLH so could be my bias (probably not) and hatton fans during the floyd fight were pretty disrespectful, here i was a hatton fan but after the fans reactions, my pride wanted floyd to knock that guy out but my brain wanted hatton to win. Also korean soccer fans 2 years ago drove me nuts.

 

Did Diaz actually get the additional $500,000 ?

 

Well Tito did it because it was the only way Winky wouldtake the fight if I'm not mistaking. Winky demanded a million more and King wold not have it.

Now is Manny paying out of his own pocket, because if he is that is class. If he is not, it is nothing more than a good publicity stunt.

 

This was a great gesture and only shows what we all already knew. Apart from being P4P#1 he is also a great guy and deserves all he has achieved.

 

I hope it will be looked like that.

But I won't be surprised if there will be 1 or 2 morons who will say the fight is fixed or Diaz took a dive, and the additional amount is the payout.

Great to see things like this in the world of boxing. Pac is great, he's always been a generous person and his success couldn't have happened to a nicer person.

 

Nice gesture(if true) no doubt, but makes one wonder.........were was that generousity when JMM was asking for (a much deserved) purse parity right after their first match:think

 

They would be huge morons if they said he took a dive. You don't take a dive getting your ass kicked for nine rounds.

 

Exactly, Diaz was just an average fighter, while JMM was in that ass:yep

 

it only looks good if Chris John did that gesture towards JMM. As for JMM receiving more money from Pac, only if he just shuts up for a rematch. hush money of sorts.
