I don't think he lost his fire, He may be trying to be a discipline fighter but he overdid it.
Even Freddie Roach said that "I like Manny better at training than at fight night. He went too much inactive in this bout".

In my opinion Manny shouldn't imitate to counter punch or wait for a follow up. He should unleash his wild side, This isn't the typical Manny we expected.

Remember Solis-Pacquiao? He started the round only by jabbing and waiting, he started slow. But when het got an accidental headbutt and a cut, he went to rid of his leash and KO Solis. That's the way he should fight.

Never tame a lion to be a house cat.

Great performance of Marquez and even if It what many expected Manny proved he can be a discipline fighter.

after thinking about the fight. i think its becuase he didnt fight like he used to, was the reason i was leaning towards marquez for the win. he could have followed up alot of his hits when he had the momentum and just take a pot shot counter to land the big bang

I think Manny should recapture his old aggressiveness. Without knowing the old maxim, he actually demonstrated it: The best defense is offense. Keep bearing down on someone with constant pressure and aggression and he can't get his own rhythm going. Now that Manny has much better skills, this is an even better time to be the aggressor and less tentative. He was showing too much respect for JMM. Well, I think JMM could not otherwise get himself established if Manny had been his old whirlwind self as he was in his first fight with MAB.

Another factor against Manny is that at sfeatherweight and lightweight, his opponents mostly are naturally taller and longer-limbed. If he has no effective solution to the opponent's advantage of distance, it wouldn't be a good idea for him to venture into the heavier weights.

I don't think he's lost any sort of fire. He's just taken too much punishment.

Well...PAC is "Progressing" as a fighter. You say he use to be a "Mad man"....which is true. And it was an extremly fun and exciting style to watch. Unfortunately fighting like a mad man in boxing doesn't always make sense especially when you are fighting a very skilled, hungry and technical fighter like JMM.

Surely fighting like he use to would have caused him to loose to JMM. You see a seasoned champion in PAC now. He looks for openings and creates openings rather than forcing them with a **** load of punches. PAC is still a raw fighter...he's not really that polished but he is fighting some much more intelligently as his much improved countering and defense will prove.
