Pacman since he fought Marquez has been matched too well?

I think Popkin's example is HORRIBLE and you are quite justified in your question. However certain ethnicities do seem to disproportionately produce certain styles. That is NOT to say that fighters are confined to these stylse, but the cultures seem to "shine" in certain areas.

African American - Slick naturally gifted boxers/boxer/punchers (Mayweather, Whittaker, Leonard, Ali) on the flipside there are (Tyson, Mosley, Frazier, etc...)

Mexican - Tough as nails volume punching swarmers (Margarito, Chavez, Castillo, etc...) on the flip side (JMM)

European - Disciplined technical fighters with good pop and tough brawlers (Klits, LLewis, Abraham, Kessler, Hatton, etc...) on the flip side (Calzaghe, Hamed, Kahn, etc...)

African - Well conditioned decently fast tough volume punchers (Mbuza, NDou, etc...) on the flip side (Clottey)

Now I am overly broad here, but there are certain culturual aspects that manifest in boxing styles. Hispanic Machismo, African American penchant for flash/artistry, European focus on technical refinement, etc... It seems to be more of a cultural issue than a racial one, but it does exist.

Just because we are different it doesn't have to be taken negatively.

I don't get why people keep discrediting Pac for being "matched-up too well" against his recent opponents. Floyd fans say Pac is tailor-made for Floyd so why the **** should they give Floyd all the credit in the world if he beats Pac?

I agree with what you're saying, but Prime Tyson wasn't a brawler. Lewis, the Klitschko Brothers, and Kessler aren't brawlers and Hatton and Khan should be switched around.

I do think all 5 guys he's fought since JMM was tailor made for Pac. BUT I give him credit for destroying them. The thing is it's not easy beating a top level professional fighter, much less knock him out. Even if Pac is the 3rd best welterweight behind Floyd and Shane it is still pretty impressive if you really think about it. PED speculation aside, Pac is doing a tremendous job in the ring.

I understand what the TS was trying to say. Pacquiao's recent opponents are all similar in some ways. Including De La Hoya,

    1. They've all been flat footed fighters who stand right in front of him.

    2. They were all dependent almost completely on their left hand.

    3. They all lacked head movement.

    4. With the exception of Clottey, none of them used any effective defense.

I don't think he's trying to bash Pacquiao, but I think he's just pointing something out that he noticed. They seem to keep him in there with fighters that are suited to make him look good.

When Pac dominates Floyd they'll say Floyd was overrated/past prime.

I stopped reading when he started about Pac's recent meteoric rise in boxing.

I think that is the main reason Roach refused to allow Pac fight Shane.

since the marquez fight pac improved a lot especially on his preparation and mental approach.

like in one interview were roach was asked when was the turning point where pac has improved... roach said it was after the second marquez fight, pac realized that he has to add more to his game. after that fight pac began to watch tapes of his opponents and study them, that's what roach said.

Funny, he said the exact same thing right before the JMM rematch.......pointing to the Morales beatdowns and Pac's 12 round schooling of an intimidated MAB.

If we had listened to the critics and most of the fools in this forum, they were saying Pac had his pick against Marquez......he could either use his speed and quickness to manuever in and out of range and outbox Marquez, or he could take it to him full throttle and squash him.

I dont think it turned out to good for Pac when the majority in all boxing forums had JMM winning and the Pinoy broadcast team called for an investigation of the decision.
