its not that bad, sad in a way to see castillo reduced to being a sparring partner...

He was Chavez's sparring partner before he won a title I believe, not that big of a deal. But I feel you, he's got nothing left in the tank and is going to be rather dull to use for Cotto.

Cant hurt...Bigger guy, good left hooker. Pac generally seems to spar guys that can push him without kicking his arse..and it works wonders generally.

Thats why I find it strange Hatton took on that Cuban jnr middle for prep for Pac...from reports he took a hiding and they pulled him out early...cant see how that helps him prepare.

Castillo is still useful and maybe still effective for 3 rounds... That's the average number of rounds for PAC's sparring partners... They won't have 12 rounds with PAC in one go...

I don't think it's a bad choice at all. It's the only way I'd like to see JL in the ring again. For his sake.

Decent sparring. Good style to work with. Castillo could still give it for 2 to 4 hard rounds. Plus sparring won't test you in the same way a fight will. The headgear, bigger gloves, holding the power back sometimes etc
