You have to uunderstand something about sparring. #1. You only do 3-4 round with each guy per section. #2. You find guys who will help you with each thing you want to work. That could go from speed and defense to simply stamina. #3. Those guys have to be willing to help you.
Why is he sparring Castillo? I don't think he resembles Cotto's style at all, plus he is already finished.
He'll get some good rounds in as long as he keeps those punches up and away from JLC's glass body. "I'm a face boxer, yo!"
A good big strong pressure fighter, very good on the inside where Pac will need to hone his skills, but nowhere near as skilled as Cotto especially in terms of cutting off the ring. Then again, it would be pretty hard to find a sparring partner able to emulate Miguel's skill set.
As long as "El Temible" is not the only sparring partner ( usually they bring in 4 to 6 ) I don't see a problem.
if Castillo was fresher this would be the ticket, but he is not, he is shop worn, Why would you pick the man who was stopped by Hatton early to spar with for Cotto?
Its sparring you nits, lot of you are acting like its some kind of tune-up fight. I would rather have my fighter spar with a washed up legend then a rising prospect.
