As sorry as it is, only hardcore boxing fans even know his name over here.

    - I could not get a TV channel in Germany which showed the Cotto fight.
    - I had to follow it via the boards.
    - Sunday morning, there was no report on the radio, on TV, or other media about the fight.

It is a shame, that one of the best fights of the year will not be noticed by the masses!

I know. I have family in Europe and no one knows him. ODLH is more known (but they think he stopped boxing a decade or more ago).

A lot of lighter weight boxers are unknown in Europe, generally.

Yep, nearly nobody knows him over here. There are nearly no fighters who compete on a world level in the weights under the mw limit who are fighting out of Germany and so there are no fights on TV and all the greats there unknown. The last fighter who didn´t fight out of Germany in the lower fights who got TV exposure was Prince Hamed if I remember correctly. But it´s moslty MW to HW which is big here.

The fight was free in the UK and I would say he is better known than any MMA fighter, not hugely massive, but then again David Haye was unknow to many until 10 days ago.

There wasn´t even any MMA over here until a few month ago, and since I didn´t see it in the last few weeks I think it got kicked out due to nobody wanting to see it.

Yeah ususally no one knows pac in Germany. There was a lengthy article about him in the "Spiegel" - so some of my coworkers asked me about him, even though they are not into boxing.

The German audience, for some reason, isn't interested in watching boxers below middleweight (or at least the TV stations think so). I just download the fights and watch them the next day.
