great video. Shows the speed and power of Manny, towards the end of the round it shows Cotto wobbling Pac.

Yes seeing it that way would make it a 10-10 round I think.

Cotto took an ass whipping. It was good of him to stay away from Pacquiao as much as he did. He could have been seriously hurt if he had engaged more in the mid and later rounds. He's not seriously talking about a rematch, is he? That's pride talking. He ran from this midget.

its a 10/9 in my opinion but the judges wouldnt be wrong to cal it a 10/8 as the round was just won by pacmans jab and speed plus the kd.yes a Nikon D90 18-200mm VR

using the Nikon D90 18-200mm VR it makes you think you are really there compared to normal tv i wont be surprised if this is how good tv will get in a couple of years.

    Here we go again!!!!!!

10 -8 round for Pac. Assuming Cotto convinced you he won the rest of the fight, then it becomes a 10-9 round still in Pac's favor.

A KD is an automatic 10-8 round, and a subsequent point deduction per knockdown.

Winning a round only gets a 10-9 round unless one of those rounds that you are battered from post to post without a KD, then a 10-8 round is warranted.

Suffer a KD, then automatically, you are 2 points down. Win the rest of the round, then you regain a point, therefore, the 8 becomes 9, or a 10-9 round, but still on the losing side. However, batter the opponent from pillar topillar without inflicting a KD after being KDed, then a 10-10 round (very very rarely given as the judge has still to give a round to a fighter even if they are equal in terms of punch connects or even if they are fighting in mirror image).

er... I did say that personally I had it 10-9 on the assumption that the 1st KD is a 2 point swing and that Cotto won the round outside of the KD. the 2nd part of my post was just trying to justify a 10-10 score using the 10 point must system.

But yeah, I completely agree with your post, the only difference being that I thought Cotto won the rest of the round, hence a 10-9 round for Pac

I'm sorry if there was an implication that you are wrong because you're not.

I just said here we go again because this debate happened before, I am not so sure which fight. But I think it was the JMM-Pac 2 where the KD happened but JMM apparently won the round, or something.

Although you will be hard pressed to find a judge who would score a round with a KD a 10-9 round even if the KDed down opponent is winning. It just makes the scoring too complicated. Since there are three judges, the judge would tend to score it 10-8 otherwise his scoring would be different from the other two judges, and he would look incompetent. Most likely, the other two would be thinking the same, so the most likely score is 10-8.

I agree. It's the combination of good video quality and all the surrounding sounds.
When you film it with a normal camera the sounds are there as well, but the video quality sucks. And on TV it's vice-versa: great video quality, but you mainly hear the commentators so you don't get the feeling you are there.

With this Nikon camera you get both!

He's in there with a very fast fighter...>Cotto's not slow but compared to Manny it looks like he is.

 What? Cotto did well all things considered in that round but he still was outworked, outlanded and was more accurate. Cotto made it a great round b/c he's tough as nails and really wanted to prove he wasn't hurt....which I don't think he was really hurt that round.. 10-8 was the appropriate score for that round.
