Not seen much analysis on this one. Do people see a serious way Tim can win this one? Tim Bradley reminds me of Evander Holyfield, and more than just the fact they both make liberal use of the noggin. He's fairly short at the weight, but can do everything well, without ever having a 'wow' ingredient but his well rounded ability may see him to feats that are 'wow' anyway. Does he have power? No, not really. Sporadically he'll throw a big, big punch. Is he the fastest guy? No, not really. Devon Alexander probably had more handspeed, so did Kendall Holt. Is he the best outboxer in the world? No. Is he the most relentless pressure fighter? No. But he's certainly shown he can do both to good effect. I'd say his best qualities are his mental toughness, his physical strength, and his dedication to being well rounded in every aspect of the game. As much as he doesn't have an amazing superman like ability, he has no real weak area either to highlight. The problem here is, is there any way Tim Bradley can win this fight without walking forward and suffering the same fate as many others? He may not get knocked out, but he'll almost certainly lose that way. Or can he keep a tight enough defence to push Manny back and keep him from springing combinations? Is he good enough to follow a Marquez blueprint? I don't think theres any evidence he's ever fought like that. Yet theres just something that leaves me inclined not to completely dismiss his chances.
Thread has dropped in interest but here it is, some good solid posts from differing view points. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=379337 Bradley wins IMO, I think Pac's declining and Bradley's always evolving and this is the fight he's been wanting. I like the talk of isolating Pac and using smart footwork against him. I think Bradley's studied this one for years and June 9th is time for the Storm to hit Vegas!.
I think Bradley is on for a brutal hiding unless he changes his style. He comes forward too much and likes to trade at times which could be a massive mistake if he adopts those tactics against Pacquaio. Tim is a good boxer though and could force Pacquaio into deep ground but he has never fought a swarmer as far as I have seen so it could be interesting to see how he handles that. So far he hasn't had many real problems to deal with, maybes Holt and Witter a little bit so we should find a lot out about him next month. I'm predicting he gets KO'd in 9.
I think Pacquaio wins this with the speed of punches but if he fails to win he can kiss goodbye to the fight with Floyd. I personally think Bradley at times is overrated but he is good at what he does and he is a pressure fighter who likes to fight on the inside. I will go for Pacquaio to win by UD
I think he will too. He'll get up and make a battle out of it, but Pac will treat Tim the same way he did Cotto: a legitimate threat, and beat him like a ragdoll. But Timmy's got some skills and enough ring smarts to give Pac lots of looks and angles and make him work for a win.
I'm seeing that too. Knowing he's way behind, I think Tim will go for broke in the late rounds but end up getting stopped.
Pacquiao is gonna **** him up royally. Timmy's bending at the knees will be met with stern shots all night long. Bradly is durable, but he isn't as good defensively as Marquez, and he will come forward looking for the win, something which pac thrives on. Manny KO by the 7th
I would love Pacman to roll back the years, but I think, whilst not having a massive dig, Bradley is the complete fighter. He'll mix up his approach, come through some rough moments, but comfortably outbox Manny to end his time at the top once and for all. Even if he does win the decision! :deal As for styles, Bradley reminds me of Leroy Haley, but a little more technically straight up and more reliant on the right hand counter. I think Bradley does this very well, and I think it'll be sharp against Pacqiuao, who won't be moving away from it like Devon was.
Well that's bull****. Ricky had more dig. They are both mixed approach guys who can pressure and box, difference being that Ricky could only do one thing on any given night, Bradley can adapt and shift his gameplans throughout a fight. He's also at his physical prime, and, Casamayor aside, on a good run of opponents ranging from solid to very good, and is teak tough. He's come back from Holt's bombs for ****s sake.
