Pacman v Hatton moves closer.....

Football stadiums are **** places for boxing venues.

I live a 4 hour drive from Wembley and I'm really hoping it isn't there. I would travel again to the states to see this but I won't be going to Wembley to see it.

Vegas is the best place for the fight. Why should anyone have homecourt advantage?

 

Putting on at Wembley would be sensible, it'll probably sell more ppv's in the UK anyway (as did Hatton v Mayweather). But it'll not happen.

 

vegas is neutral for both camps and it will generate more ppv buys, manny in asia hatton in europe, more advertisement in u.s, billboards etc it will attract more gamblers and will be heard globally. all in all hbo, gbp etc.. = money money and more money.

 

How will the location 'generate' more PPV buys?

 

first of all, the average price of tickets in Vegas will be about 4x what the average price would be in Wembley. The gate revenue would not be that different.

Secondly, organizing a boxing match at wembley is more expensive. Much more expensive.

Thirdly, boxing matches of this amplitude bring in high rollers for casinos. Lots of them. The Casinos reward the promoters accordingly.

fourthly, and most importantly, neither of the fighters deserve home advantage. Vegas is neutral ground.

Have you ever said 'why should anyone have homecourt advantage' in a fight involving an American?

 

So that noone has an unfair advantage, obviously. What kind of question is that. So you think one of the fighters deserves homecourt advantage? which one? Hatton? Are you English?

and to answer your second question, yes, I have. Are you assuming I'm american? that would be stupid.

 

if the americans are funding it then it will be in america.
this could break ppv records.both fighters have a large following of fans from around the world.
who would not be interested in watching it?
every boxing fan will want to watch this fight.

Most fights in boxing feature one fighter having home advantage. We're talking about a sporting event, and sporting events deserve atmosphere. Personally I'd love it to be in the UK so that I could go, but I'd also prefer the event to have a massive crowd in Manilla to a small hall in Vegas.

 

A basketball arena would be perfect for this match! Staples Center pls!
