Cotto is fast enough, stronger, and just as relentless in my opinion. Paulie does not have anywhere near a questionable chin.. I agree with the zero power however.
I could see either winning on points.. Malignaggi using his jab and keeping Pac at a distance, but I could also see Pac winning on the scorecards by being the more aggressive fighter and landing the bigger shots..
If he beats Hatton it makes him the man at 140. If Pac has a go at 140, Paulie would be the top man at that weight to beat.
If Malignaggi can somehow beat Hatton... I say Pacquiao drop's everything he is doing and takes Paulie. [Easier fight than Diaz, Zero chance of getting hurt] No way, Paulie can hang in a Pac style of fight. [Yes, I saw the Cotto fight]
I'd fancy Pacman. Mallinaggi doesn't have the power Hatton has, the power that would destory Pacman. I'd fancy Pacman to go relentlesly at Mallinaggi. I think Hatton will beat both, though. He will outclass Mallinaggi and out-muscle Pacman.
Depends. Will he have the Jamiacan hairdoo which will block half his face? Seriously, Pacman. He's a special fighter.
Probably not. Roach said they are willing to go up to 140 . . . specifically for a Hatton fight only. Roach further said . . . they are looking at $20 Mil for that fight.
He said there are a few at 140 he would take and some he certainly wouldn't. One of those he said he would was Hatton as he feels he's for the taking. He also stated there are others he'd take at 140...(didn't say names though).
I don't know about that Pimp. All Paulie has is a jab. Thats not good news for an orthodox fighter going against a lefty. I dont see how Pac can overcome Marquez but then get frustrated by Paulie Malignaggi. Ngoudjo and N'Dou were tagging Paulie up without even bothering to use a jab. Pac is a lot faster than both of those guys, has a great straight left and an ever improving right hook. Usually, Paulie's advantages in a fight are his jab and his speed. Being the bigger man, his other advantage would normally be his power. However, all of these advantages would be nullified by Pac. Pac's southpaw stance would limit Paulie's effectiveness with the jab, Pac is faster than Paulie, and Paulie wouldn't even be the bigger puncher. His hand problems and lack of power in his punches would do very little in the way of detering Pac. Furthermore, Paulie has a suspect defense and gets hit by left hands too easiliy. His chin has been made out to be granite based on the Cotto fight(I guess everyone forgets that his jaw was broken in that fight and that Cotto was drained and couldn't go full force), but people forget that Ngoudjo(who isn't known for his power) rocked Paulie and almost had him out of there. IMO, this is a bad matchup for Paulie. Pac is a lot more vesatile than people make him out to be and Paulie isn't as versatile as people make him out to be. Pac takes this one via UD or TKO.
