That's BS. Case in point PAC/Clotey. It's obvious both Floyd and Pac are the two biggest draws right now but neither can do more than 1 mil buys without the assistance of a carefully chosen B-side(it has to be a NAME fighter)!
JMM was a 9-1 underdog for Pac-JMM 3, he would be 50/50 going into the 4th. Wouldn't be surprised if it hits near 2mil. What would stop it selling is the sour taste though, people want Pac-PBF and anything less will be disappointing.
Reports are that the Marquez fight was Pac's biggest selling fight ever. Higher than his DLH fight. So it will sell. The simple fact that casuals who saw it the last time will anticipate Pacquiao being propinated another boxing lesson, it will sell. To get the fight made, Arum has to guarantee what he promised Marquez last time if he beat Pacquiao, 10 million+ and a percentage of the PPV that will surely surpass Marquez making in excess of 15 million. Pacquiao will make much more than Marquez, but what likely will hold up or keep the fight from happening is that it looks like Pacquiao is looking to make what he'd make for Mayweather, against Marquez. Its called pricing yourself out of a Marquez fight.
