I was thinking this too, but with this time around. Maybe team Pac really did need to drag Juan up to 144

Well he's doesn't like to fight people at fair weights that often so nothing to do with luck, when he's not draining em (Morales TWICE, Oscar, Cotto Catchweight, Cheato Catchweight) he's dragging them as far up as he can.

doubt it. Pac was a beast back then too. it would have gone the exact same way as all of their other fights. close / controversial.

Big difference in weight, Marquez was a lot better at 135 then above that weight.

A weight-drained Pac in his last fight at 130 beat Marquez, put him on his ass early, should've had another knockdown in that round, wobbled Marquez late in the fight. What would've been different at 135 vs the Marquez that struggled with Diaz and Casamayor, other than Pac being stronger and healthier? Remember Marquez would not have had PED expert Heredia helping him back then.

Pac said after the David Diaz fight that it was quite difficult for him to make that weight as well. 140 is the lowest Pac could have gone down to.

I'm interested in what JMM can do at 147 against the likes of Ortiz, Berto, Cotto (assuming Cotto can still make the weight), and others. He looked more comfortable at 144 the 2nd time around.

Pacman was a better fighter at 135. I'd still pick Marquez to win but it would be a closer fight.
