thats understandable. pacs just blessed with physical gifts that make up for the lack of technical ability.

in part what made that fight great was that his style complemented jmm's well. would'nt have been as good a fight if we had another mover/counter puncher in there with marquez.

    a third fight is needed

People seem to forget that only 3 of Pacs last 9 opponents were coming off a win and I truly believe his level of opposition whether they be past it or too small or whatnot has been the main reason he has looked good. Some people have been saying that recently he is clearly more skillful that he used to be but I reckon JMM put that theory to rest last night.

Surely looking at their achievements is a major factor when judging a fighter? He definataly deserves his place in the p4p list and I don't understand how some people can question that. Would you guys would have someone with more skill but has been less successful over him in a p4p list? Regarding the fight, I had Marquez just about winning the fight by 1 point.

It depends whether your P4P list is based on achievement or ability.

p4p always has to be about ability doesnt it - the achievement comes after

Thats the point.... either you rate people on ability or you rate them on achievement... Or you put it all together and try and come up with some sort of combination.... and thats where the problem lies.... Some people will be impressed with big name victories regardless of the manner in which they get them- others like me- are more impressed with the WOW factor of a performance. Luckily when you have a guy like Mayweather who combines wow with names there can be no arguments about the number one... But go back 5-6 years and you had De La Hoya turning in the p4p performances and Pernell with all the titles and names it was very hard to pick the number one guy.

Yeah but his speed and Power are better than P4P PBF's were Floyd is better in other area's.

And when you look at who has fought and won against i have to say he is in a class with the all time greats.

Imagine if he fights beats Diaz then beats someone like Guzman.

That will shut the nay sayers up. I mean going from Flyweight to win a Lightweight Belt would be like a how Roy Jones went on to win a Heavyweight title. Yet Jones never fought 3 Future Hall of Famers to do it.

It comes down to me as im not a Purist and in fact i feel guys like Mayweather and co make our sport boring. Were guys like Pacman bring excitement everytime they get in the Ring.

    I would much rather watch
    Pacman'
    Pavlik
    Katsidis
    Cotto
    Vazquez

    Than watch say
    Dawson
    Hopkins
    Mayweather
    Calzaghe
    etc.

But hey each to there own.

You are not. I was watching that fight the other night. It one of my favoruite fights in my collection. Tarver got simply taken to school on the inside and the outside.
