Manny Pac continues, his destrutive run in the welter weight division. Is Manny Pac's run up there with Mike Tyson's early Heavyweight devastation..? Sonny Listons run of smashing people up..? And Foreman's early run of smashing up Norton and Frasier etc..? My Black Berry was shaking last night..!!!
Iron Mike burst onto the scene, while Pacman has been stepping it up fight by fight, year by year. What's amazing is how late he can still continue improving. But there are definitely similarities in the way he's running through opponents.
Pac eclipsed all of them. Tyson,. Foreman and Liston's run were all short-lived. And their style were all figured out very soon by other fighters.
It is much better than Tyson's run - cause Tyson did not beat any great fighters who were not already shot.
pac has eclipsed all of them but not in the sence th thread sugests he will go down as the better fighter but his run isnt a destructive as the outhers metioend
Usually I wouldn't agree, but yes. You can't deny greatness, Pacquiao has cleaned out the lightweight division which was full of great fighters, and now the WW division on which he went straight for the top fighters
You have to go back a long time to find someone who had a better run than the one Pacquiao is on right now. When you combine the weight-jumping with the manner in which Pac has been destroying people, you have something that's going to be remembered for a long time.
While Tyson's run was fairly short-lived, I have NEVER seen anyone fight with as much devastating power and ferocity as he had. In his prime, he was the baddest MOFO on the planet. I literally feared for the lives of his opponents. For that reason alone, Tyson will go down as one of the greatest. Not the greatest, mind you, but one of the greatest. Regarding Pac, one cannot deny his longevity and his dominance through several weight divisions. He is arguably the greatest ever. As far as icons of the sport go, Ali is the champion far and away; for not only what he did in the ring, but for his personality out of the ring as well.
