Margarito is in the best shape of any fighter in boxing at the moment. He has a granite chin, high workrate, and is a devastating puncher. If you watch his training videos, his punches are ****ing explosive as ****. He's taller, bigger, and will be coming in 10-20 pounds over. He'll walk through and eat 100 Pacquiao left hands just to land a handful of haymakers.

Marg overworked. He was 2 weeks out and like 3 pounds over the weight limit. He burnt himself out. He had no chance regardless. Margo might have a 12.5% chance if Pac's has a bad day.

    Nice avatar whos the girl.

Anyways we will see how Pac responds to Margo's power; they've probably been training to mitigate that uppercut of Margos..

Margarito has a chance, but I have to give Pac the edge. Anything is possible in boxing.

Anything can happen in boxing, but based on styles, Pac has a bigger chance to win than Margarito.

The facts that Margarito likes to walk through his opponents' punches, doesn't use the jab enough, gives up his height and reach, doesn't counterpunch, or use much strategy in his fights, don't bode well for this fight. His plan is to relentlessly pressure, take his opponents' best punches and wear them down. This has worked fairly well for him in the past, but recently he's payed the price for his flaws.

Pac also has a few flaws in his game, but he is a much smarter fighter that is also relentless, but doesn't come predictably straight in all the time. Add to that amazing endurance, speed, and unpredictable stinging punches, and you could see why few opponents can deal with him.

Margarito's height, reach, and weight don't mean much if he doesn't use his advantages properly. He's gonna have a hard time hitting Pac cleanly for the most part, and will get hit a lot in return. Is Margarito prepared to deal with Pac's buzzsaw attack after his worst loss of his career in recent memory, a long layoff, and problems outside of the ring? If Pac keeps hitting him with punishing punches in the first half of their fight, would flashbacks of the punishment Mosley dealt to him start to affect him? Is Margarito's punch resistance and strong will to walk through anything still there? Can Pac stay away from the ropes, and avoid big punches for as long as necessary? We'll find out soon enough.

90% of people on this forum are basically predicting an easy win for Pac, and they think everything on 24/7 is manufactured to make the fight seem closer than it actually is.

Now, while 24/7 is certainly very manipulative of the footage for its own agenda (like most documentary style programs) I honestly believe that there is some measure of truth to it, too. I've seen footage of Ariza, completely separate to any official HBO videos, and even there he looks a bit worried that Pac isn't in his usual condition. Roach also said in a video separate to any 24/7 stuff, that 'Khan punched the **** out of Manny' during sparring. Granted, Marg is not Khan, and sparring can mean very little, unlike the real match, but there HAVE been issues during that training camp. It's not just one big conspiracy, complete with HBO officials twirling their moustaches and cackling to one another. Pac is involved in congress now, and it's only natural that he has less time for training than he used to -- it's also only natural, after a string of impressive wins, that someone may become complacent. We've seen it before in boxing history. Apparently Pac is looking much better now, and Roach is finally happy with the training, but it looks like it hasn't exactly been one of the smoother camps.

Marg is also being underestimated. I'll admit that I haven't seen much footage of him, but I recall that he keeps coming forward, and keeps throwing punches, trying to smother people on the ropes and keep them constantly busy. He's also working on body shots in training, apparently. He's clearly not as fast as Pac, he doesn't have a great deal of skill, and I doubt he'll be able to cut the ring off well, let alone against someone as quick as Pacman. Even so, his chin seems very sound (no shame being KO'd by someone like Shane) and he has natural size and weight on his side. He also has a good uppercut, if I remember right (I think it was in the Cotto fight where he kept throwing it while Cotto was against the ropes) and Clottey showed that Pac could leave himself open to that punch. The body shots might also slow Pac down, if he can land enough. I don't know how many fights he used those plaster hands for, so I don't know how good he actually is, but I don't think it would be wise to underestimate the guy.

It's likely that Pac will indeed just move around the ring and hit him with left hand after left hand, as he did versus Hoya, but I think Marg is definitely a live underdog. We've all seen stranger things happening in boxing, and bigger upsets. We'll see.

Where was Margo's granite chin against Shane Mosley?

Did it have a day off or something?

You must of not seen the fight because Margarito was taking so many flush shots from a big puncher.
And even when he got TKO'd he got up with a smile on his face.

He was obviously not there 100% due to the handwrap scandal.

Pac is faster than Mosley, and recent fights suggest that Pac hits harder. If a slower, older, and overall lesser Shane Mosley can demolish Margarito in 8, then Pacquiao should have no problem matching this feat or even managing a KO in the fist 6. So what if Marg got up with a smile on his face? He sunk to the canvas with the imprint of Shane Mosley's glove etched upon his face, after eating another right hand. Don't forget that Pac throws a lot more shots than Mosley, aswell as a larger variety from angles. Pac is going to connect with twice as many shots as Margo did, and sooner or later, Pac is going to knock him out.
