Pacquaio and Ortiz should fight for the vacant welterweight title

victor ortiz is only 23 and still green, he has bad defense, pac/floyd could literally end his career.

 

Yes this fight needs to happen, but it won't. Tell Pacquiao to leave Arum and become his own free agent and maybe we can see it go down

Ortiz is being completely overrated. He got beat by Maidana. Pac would destroy him.

In Arum's point of view - it is a lose, lose situation.
He would be sharing Pac's mass appeal to his nemesis. He only has one hand in one pot - Pacs.
If Pac loses, he basically passes the Mass Appeal baton to Ortiz - just like ODLH did for Pac and PBF.


ODLH obviously wants this because it brings Ortiz to prominence - his own fighter. And if he beats Pac - the better since he probably hates Pac x3 (not signing with GBP, beating the **** out of him/retiring and he works for Top Rank and Arum).

HBO wants this because they screwed up this GBP exclusivity deal. For a while Ortiz seemed to be a bust. And they have invested a large sum of money with Ortiz even during his young prospect days. Fighting Pac will finally get them a return on that investment.

Since Arum would prefer not to play with either GBP or HBO, there is no chance in hell this is going to happen.

If it did, it would be like a 75/25 split.
However, if Arum is clever he would put Pac vs JMM at 140 by buying out JMM from GBP. Have Pac beat JMM at 140 then force Ortiz at 140. LOL!
Ortiz loses. Basically, curb stomping GBP old champ and future cash cow. Making GBP a collection of semi liked Mexicans.

That would be pure evil. But pure greed like that is asking for Karma payback.

 

Yup, his beef with Oscar and GBP is ruining the sport.

I just hope boxing fans start to aim their disdain at Arum and not Mayweather or Pacquiao.
