    Yea but there's always both sides to it.

    Pro's
    Ortiz-young-strong and not past prime-beat berto
    Marquez- pro's only to end trilogy

    Cons
    Ortiz- too green - quit against maidana
    Marquez- too old- small- past prime etc etc

    I rather see pac-ortiz

    Floyd vacated the Ring title when he retired in '07 following his fight with Hatton. None of the fights that have taken place since than have fulfilled their criteria for filling the vacancy.

    But Pac-Ortiz does, since Floyd's been dropped from the rankings due to inactivity and since he doesn't have a fight currently scheduled. They're the two top contenders, it makes for an attractive match-up involving two aggressive south-paws, and it crowns a new welterweight champion.

    So, if Floyd stays inactive, then this is indeed the fight that should be made.

    Belt is vacant. When floyd retired marg and cotto where 3 and 1 I believe. Lineage always follows ring rankings, just not their belt cos they award it incorrectly on occasion. But since floyd beat hatton 1 has never fought 2.

    Beating ortiz means pac cleans out a division. Would look better if floyd and ortiz fought then pac fought the winner.

    yea that's why i like this fight to happen. Not only can pac win another ring title but also he would have clean out the division.
