Pacquiao is indeed a former flyweight, but to say things like "impressive a former flyweight beat a 170 lbs guy" means squat because, well how I do say this, he's not a flyweight anymore. :patsch

If Pacquiao could still make flyweight then yes, that'd be impressive. But then again, you'd probably make claims that he could.

Filipino flyweight Manny Pacquiao is lining up for a Hw showdown with W. Klitshko. a catchweight of 141 has been offereded, with both titles on the line. Pacquiao is rumoured to have a broken leg, but will fight regardless, cause he's "that sort of a guy"

I'm sure there are several men who in their teenage years weighed in as light flyweights and 15 years later went on to beat a fighter at 150 pounds.

For the context of your argument, yes Pacquiao is a former flyweight. But unless you refer to all fighters by the division they made their professional debut in or by a weight they once competed in as a teenager, it doesn't really make sense to bring it up as often as many do for him.

People who cite in-ring weights constantly are clueless.

Are you going to give Floyd massive props or additional credit for being outweighed by Ortiz by 14 pounds? (Floyd: 150, Ortiz: 164)

No, you won't. And nor should you. They both weighed in at Welterweight.

Pac didn't beat a 170 pound Margarito he beat a 150 pound Margarito.

It's like saying Sergio Martinez never defended his Middleweight title because he always entered the ring above 160 pounds. It's just irrelevant. That's why they have weigh ins.

If you choose to drain yourself to make weight then good for you. If you choose to fight at your "walk around weight" and not balloon up after the weigh in then good for you.

pacs win over a 170 toni was seen as spectacular by 99 percent of the people and for good reason the way pac fought toni toe2toe in that fight was bad ass he really showed what he was about
