Pacquaio has never tasted real power!! How is he gonna deal with it?

Has Cotto ever fought anyone like Pac? The only person that resembles Pacs speed I think has been Mosley. Mosley was fast, hit hard, but he really didnt move much like Pac will be doing. I think Cottos jab is really underated and will play the biggest rhole in Cottos gameplan.

 

Know anything about those fights???

 

It will be interesting to see how Pac deals with the power if in fact he does get tagged flush. I watched Pac/Hatton again this morning (I watch it 3-4 times a week to get ready for work) and Manny commented that he could feel Ricky Hatton's power. Part of me wonders if he just said that to build Hatton up a bit because it was preceded with him saying he was surprised that the fight was so easy.

 

Dats exactly y i said Cotto will stop manny,Manny has neva been hit wit force dat Cottos punches wil have,Cotto will be mannys most powerful opponent 2 date,all it takes 4 Cotto is 1 good punch....and if Marquez could stunn Manny....Cotto will do even worse

 

It is because of his speed that his opponents taste his power first before they can give it to him. Hit and don't get hit is the sweet science of boxing.

 

I cant believe anyone is giving cotto a chance in this fight.

 

Pac defence improved after every fight so i wont see much he gets cought clear shots.

 

Pac seems like a durable guy. Never seen him truly hurt.. seen him get buzzed a few times.. but never in real trouble.. I think he will handle Cotto's power just fine. Cotto has good power but it's not as if Cotto is a one-punch knockout artist..

When Pac gets tagged with a good shot, he fires right back. When Cotto gets hit with a good shot, he starts backpeddling. Both guys will come forward early and give us a war. But as the fight progresses, I expect Pac to be the one on the offensive, while Cotto gets defensive. In the end, I think Pac will win the decision if not stop Cotto late.

 

The key isn't the power...it's dealing with Cotto's underrated speed. Mosley and Quintana both said that they were surprised how fast Cotto was with both his hands and his feet. They were caught off guard by how Cotto moved and didn't prepare for it adequately.

A lot of people think Miguel lumbers but he's surprisingly quick when need be. I think if Manny underestimates how fast Cotto is, he'll set himself up for a big surprise.

 

I think Cotto should become the couter-puncher in this fight. If he comes forward it will suit Manny. If he stays back and times Manny he will have a better chance than rushing recklessly Hatton style.

 

Cotto's got to cut Manny off and throw is lead right and counter with his right. Oscar pretty much proved that you cannot beat Manny with your left hand.

Cotto's footwork is much faster than people give him credit for but not as fast as Manny's

I think the funny thing in this thread so far is that everyone has said what Cotto has to do to beat Manny. No one has said a word on what Manny has to do to beat Cotto. I think that pretty much proves who the favorite is even amongst the haters who are rooting for Pac to loose.

So here,

Manny has spin Cotto around like a top, come in on Cotos left side throw his quick combinations then get out before cotto can counter. If Manny sets up on Cotto's left side his eye will never hold out the entire fight and it will be a stopage.

if he comes in with a plan and stick with it(unlike vs Margarito). he needs to bring some of the boxing that he showed vs Mosley, plus his power, HE WILL BEAT PAC.

 

Cotto just need to have Plan A to Z.

Pac always have 3 plans... Blitz, Evade, Attack

 

Yes they were at a lower weight and he was tkoed.
