Hatton will go to the HoF.

Damn, the facts are elocuent. It wouldn't surprise me, in some years, if Manny is ranked as a Top5 ATG.

    Ricky Hatton:
140 Lineal Champ for 4 years
    147 Champ
    2005 Fighter of the Year
    #4 P4P fighter in 2005
    #8 P4P fighter in 2006
    #8 P4P fighter in 2007
    #10 P4P fighter in 2008
Defeated a number 3 and number 9 P4P fighters in their respected years
Even accomplishments outside of the ring. He would bring 50,000 fans to go watch him fight in Vegas. Nobody here would be able to do that for their funeral. That's ****ing impressive.

I know there aren't many real fans here. Just people that have been watching it here and there for the last couple of years probably think I'm crazy, but any true fan that has been watching boxing for at least 5 years or so would know that Hatton should be a surefire Hall of Famer.

Who are Hatton's best wins?? A fading inactive Kostya Tzsyu, whom he wrestled with and got away from it by the hometown ref? or a shot to peices Jose Luis Castillo, who was above his prime weight??

Sure he was a good fighter at his best, but not worthy of being in the HOF IMO.

Hatton is a clear hof candidate. He ruled over lww, sure he didn't fight cotto and witter, but he took on collazo and floyd instead. Only ever defeated by p4p number 1 ranked fighter, always went out on his shield. Easily one of the best active fighters during his prime. Clear hof material.

I go by the ATG level. He beat 4 ATG fighters. Barrera,Morales,Delahoya,Mosley. That is 3 more than Duran beat.

Captain hindsight. Why was Hatton an underdog against Kostya Tszyu? Let's just forget the fact that he was the 3 best boxer P4P at the time and everybody, experts and the majority of fans, kept saying Tszyu would be too much for Hatton. Hatton beats him, and now he's shot. Same thing against JLC. He's going up against a tough, experienced mexican. He KO's him and now he's shot. Now, you know I'll meet you halfway on JLC, because he was above his prime fighting weight, but still it's a double standard. JLC beats Hatton, "Oh, it's the great JLC pulling off another fight," Hatton beats JLC "Oh, well that doesn't count JLC is shot" and that goes for the above when he fought Tszyu. Tszyu being old or whatever shouldn't be a factor because all the time old fighters beat young fighters.

People predict Paulie would throughly outbox and retire Hatton. Didn't happen, the opposite happened. Urango is beat and bulky should give the "one dimensional" Hatton fits. Didn't happen. Collazo is a big Welterweight, and Hatton's going to America he'll get beat. Didn't happen. Tough fight against a quality opponent outside his weight class, but Hatton won clear and convincing aside from the last, what, 4 rounds at the end of the fight, in a fight where he got a knockdown within the first 10 seconds. The only two fights conventional wisdom and the experts were finally right is when Hatton didn't beat Mayweather and Pacquiao. Two modern legends, two all-time greats.
