Pacquiao is the Canelo antidote, cause he has the speed and angles to beat timing to the punch, which confuses opponent readers such as Alvarez. JMM went literally through hell to figure him out and finally score a decisive bloody victory, and Canelo is nowhere near as adaptable or forward-thinking as his countryman. Like Donaire, he has better timing than hand-speed, and can look quick upon figuring distance out, but Pac's angles and rhythm are extremely troublesome to read. Going forward would lead Canelo to a Cottoesque beating (his holes are mostly on the front foot), and waiting to counter a much faster operator would lead him beaten to the counter.

Size and power of Cotto, Shane, Margo and Hatton had absolutely nothing on Pacquiao, it was an incredible dimension where small Juan Manuel Marquez could solve the Pacquiao puzzle, and his face was still a bloody mess upon the finish. Canelo doesn't possess the speed, energy level and adaptability to match Marquez' performance. Pacquiao by technical knockout.

Cotto was tagging him. JMM whooped him everytime. Even a drained Oscar jabbed him a lil. Canelo puts his lights out and Manny wouldn't dare face him at 154 no catchweight BS. And Manny does take too many punches to face Canelo anyways.

Yeah. Canelo can actually box a little whereas Margarito could never box. He just had that granite chin (pre-Mosley) and a good work rate. Canelo would make a few adjustments and land some hammers. manny would be asleep shortly thereafter

 

JMM won basically every fight. The fights he didn't win were draws (at best). Few elite fighters defeat other elite fighters in the DOMINANT manner that JMM toasted manny. JMM definitively dominated fights 1 and 3, with 2 being a a closer fight. Fight 4 was just icing on the cake

 

Skill wise yes but not at the weight.

 

Pacquiao would look bad chasing and missing shots but his workrate and speedy combination punching would be too much for Canelo. Canelo is selective with his shots and Manny is a perpetually moving target. The size difference is huge but there is a huge gap in levels. Pacquiao's timing and speed and power is superior to Trout's and Canelo beat him in a close fight.
