Pernell Whitaker and Julio Cesar Chavez did it. Don't ever recall anyone ever bitching about either of those 2 legends for doing a catchweight title fight. So why pick only on Pacquiao?

none of them did it 2 times in a year span and none of them were claiming history after they did it.

:good None of Pacmans fans wants to argue against that, they just want to say "belts don't mean anything anyways". But when Pacfans come screaming he's won soo many belts in soo many weight classes, they say nothing and follow along like good Pacfans.

So basically you are defending Chavez and Whitaker for doing a catchweight title fight yet criticize Pac for doing the exact same thing.

Show me a rule or link somewhere where it says 1 catchweight title fight is acceptable and is the limit for a career where a 2nd one is unacceptable.

    Bias much?

    Hypocrite much?

Also you quoted yourself "this is for the best fighter, pound for pound, said Whitaker". So now Margarito vs Pacman is the best pound for pound? LOL keep the excuses coming Pacfans!

Excuses not necessary. But carry on with your hypocrisy.

    Here is basically your logic:

I wonder how you are going to write an article involving Fraud Gayweather?

If Pac is a coward, then Gayweather is what?

I remember Pacdbest when he matched up Pac agaisnt Hatton, ODLH, Cotto and everybody especiually the Floydettes were saying that he is delusional and nuthugger. Then he annihilated those in succession and now idiots like you are sdaying he is a coward!

He should not even be facing those opponents in the first place, yet he crossed the weight divide several times over. There is only one fighter to do it aside from Pac and he is a coward too.

\Let me put it in your shallow perspective:

Pac is the SMALLER MAN. Probably he should be fighting at 140 pounds. Anything above that weight is already a bonus.

It is not like the Mayweather fights where he was the bigger man and asking Hatton and JMM to fight him at higher weights!

I never once in my post said it was acceptable for them to fight for a title at a catchweight. My post said their fight was for the best pound for pound, nowhere near what Pacman vs Margarito is. Any title fight for a catchweight is wrong in my opinion. I'm pointing out the fact that he's doing it TWICE in one year. But continue to twist my posts around to fit your argument.

I would like to go back in time to say 2006 and state that in 4 years time, Pacquiao would have fought and stopped DLH, Hatton, Cotto and then had agreed to fight Margarito and somehow find anyone on hte face of the planet with any kind of boxing knowledge describe this course of action as being risk free and the career of a coward.

For ****s sake General Board - This has got to be a sign that there's not enough people taking any interest in anything except Pac and Floyd.

This whole forum will need to set up another sub forum for "*******s And *****s" and it will already have more threads and posts than the Aussie, UK and MMA boards combined.

But to call Pacquiao a coward, largely from a group of fans who only two fights ago paid 600k to fight a catchweight with JMM is just a tiny bit hypocritical.

Newsflash - Floyd and Pac both take big stinky shits - This is getting beyond ridiculous.

To call someone who has fought as many high calibre fighters as Floyd and Pac have and then call them a coward should really stop watching boxing and just go **** themselves.

Agreed he's not coward. No professional fighter is a coward in my opinion. He is a carefully matched money maker for Bob Arum.

Alright. Since when were catchweight fights only meant for the best pound for pound? Right next to Pernell's statement, it also said to accomodate the smaller Chavez, which really is what catchweight fights were meant for. Pac is naturaly smaller than Margarito if you have eyes. Way smaller.

My point also was the absence of criticism for Whitaker and Chavez for doing the same exact thing Pac is doing today.

I have no problem with them fighting at a catchweight. My issue is the title belt on the line and the nonstop talking from his fans claiming he's the best bcuz he won so many titles I'll have to endure. If they originally came out saying they were going to fight at 151 to test Manny at LMW it would have been far better than this catchweight title BS. I still wouldn't buy it bcuz I do not believe Margarito deserves a chance to make the type of money he will fighting Pacquiao, but the catchweight would not be an issue to me. :good

so basically nothing, you are putting your argument for my post. i never said i agreed with what chavez did.. How about you reply to what I wrote and stick with that.

Chavez vs. Sweet pea didnt Distort the history Book... it was wrong but it didnt change the records in boxing...

With Pacquiao We are seeing this guy just distort the history of boxing like this. I feel how the baseball world felt when they were watching Barry Bonds

Breaks all these records knowing he was on PED's... It was disgusting... HANK AAron wanted nothing apart of it. **** the funny thing is Barry Bonds still had his supporters saying he is a ATG with or without the steroids...and they justifed his actions because he was their guy..

Just like when I watching Barry Bonds I was disgusted, I am disgusted watch Manny Pacquiao doing what he is doing to boxing history...and too read these boards and how they are suckking his dick.. Im sorry I just had to add to the discussion.

PACQUIAO is ****ing distorting history in a way never seen before.
Then he has the nerve to say he has nothing else to accomplish because he accomplish more than anybody.... THE NERVE to say that...

He is coward for this, and this only..

Name one fight Pacquiao has been outweigh by 20 pounds while he has moved up in weight chasing greatness??? All the greats gave up size advantages in order to achieve the reward of being called a champion.

But Pacquiao REFUSES to take those risk... He rather ask for catchweights rather than do what other before him have done..

HE IS A ****ING COWARD for this sole reason NOTHING ELSE.
He is DISTORTing the legacy of all the TRUE ALL TIME GREATS who did it the right way....

STOP FIGHTING AT CATCHWEIGHT FOR TITLES PACQUIAO AND CLAIM HISTORY!!! BE A REAL MAN

The fact that I was 7 in 1993 and knew nothing about this site would explain me not complaining about it. Can't speak for the rest of the posters...
