I think pac will be too quick for cotto, and will stop him in the mid rounds.Probably on cuts.

No, its a great win because he beat Shane Mosley. Mosley doesn't get beat all that often, especially not by guys with normal arms.

Mosley is a very good win I'll concede that point.

Still the guy was 36 etc...

He's only lost once to a guy who might have had plaster wrapped hands

His record stacks up against ANYBODY, he fights allcomers

I lean towards Pac in this one... though it will still be an incredible win if he manages it. I think his speed will win it. He showed against Oscar he has the discipline now to keep it at a distance.

Cotto has great timing and i just hope the weight limit doesnt affect his performance (doubt he will make 145 anyway)

How can anyone discredit Cotto? He's what we should want all boxers to be: brave and willing to fight the best.

He had a good win against Judah, who was fighting near his best and showing bravery we hadn't ever seen from him, he fought Mosley and, even when Shane turned it on, Cotto finished strong and pulled out the win, then a brave losing effort against Margorito - who few people wanted to fight - before his comeback and a very brave win against Clottey with only one eye.

That's an incredible resume of top ten fighters and fighting through adversity. The guy's a hero.

I cant fully make my mind up with this one, at 1st I was leaning towards Cotto, then 50/50, now towards Pacquiao.

Pacquiao is the better fighter IMO but Cotto is naturally bigger + is a very good fighter in his own right & if Manny cant take Cotto`s power & he cant dart in & out for the whole 12 rds then he is in trouble... Oscar was weak at 147 vs Pac, we know this as fact, Hatton was a strong 140 lb fighter but Cotto is even bigger than him & this is at WWT so I really dont know in this fight, very fascinating.

Im edging towards Pacquiao because of his stamina & speed + the fact that he hits so hard that even if Cotto as the bigger man CAN handle Pac`s power, he wont be able to just walk thru the punches, we know Pac`s power will be enough to make Cotto respect him, I see Pac having his toughest fight since JMM but ultimately coming thru for a close points win, a taxing fight for his body & possibly a contraversial win - but I wont be one bit suprised if Cotto wins, its one of those fights & I for one wont be betting anything big on it.

All i want to see i pacquiao try to outbox cotto until he gets caught by cotto. I'd love to see if manny could exchange blows with a hefty 147 lbers and come out on top. I want to see the look on cottos face when he realises hes in the ring with a prime ATG. Either way this is going to be a great fight. There is one thing i worry about though and that is cottos tendency to hit low when hurt.

The intangibles in this fight make it so exciting. Can manny still slug it out with a natural elite WW? Can cotto take what manny has to give? I think we will also find out whether pacquiao can rise further up the p4p ATG list. I think it would be an epic sight to see a former flyweight going toe to toe with a very strong elite WW puncher.:D

    I disagree.

He got a beat down by Margo. If you say it's because Margo had plaster wrapped hands then you have discredit Mosley's win over Margo (the first wrapless Margo) and therefore Cotto's win over Mosley (who was pretty much universally acknowledged as done, cooked before the Margo fight).

Many people believe that both Judah and Mosley had seen better days when they met Cotto. How great a fighters are Clottey and Judah anyway? Cotto didn't look particularly brilliant against Clottey (who is solid, but isn't particularly amazing) and Judah though skillful has lost to all the top draw fighters he has met along with the likes of Baldomir.

If you go past those three you enter Malignaggi territory - who took a decent amount of rounds from Cotto.

So we have past best 35 year old Mosley and a fading Judah, then Clotty, Malignaggi.

I like Cotto, but I don't think his resume is by any means currently beyond being able to be questioned. It's a good decent record, but it's not yet legendary, imho.

I fancy Cotto to win TKO Round 9. Cotto to counter punch early on and nullify Pacquiaos speed then to take over and become the agressor later on knocking Pacquiao down and ultimately stopping him.

Cotto has not got legendary status (outside of Puerto Rico) yet. But he has a better CV than anyone currently fighting in the WW division, and a much better one than PBF, yet PBF is raved about in some quarters as an ATG (not this one tho).

Exactly, I for one never said legendary, but nobody out there is fighting all comers like he has this last few years

If only Floyd had faced the same calibre of opposition
