I'm not sure that Marquez can handle Pacquaio at this late stage of his career. He's slowing down on his feet, losing handspeed and fighting at a higher weight, which doesn't suit him. Marquez right now should be fighting no higher than lightweight. Pacquaio is probably fighting at his ideal weight for the fight. 144lbs, suits him perfectly.

It will be interesting to see if Marquez gets tagged and knocked down early again, like in their two previous meetings, if his chin can hold up. I'm not too sure Pacquaio will let him off the hook. If Marquez gets passed the first 2-3 rounds, taking a few clean shots in the proccess, weathering the storm, then coming back to give Pacquaio hell, we should be in for an interesting fight.

Marquez is due a legit win against Pacquiao, no question. I feel he deserves it after the results of the their two previous encounters.

How did you score the two previous fights guys?

I hope not either, but for a lot of the reasons you mentioned, its going to happen. I wouldnt waste a dime on this fight. The fights are so horribly predictable these days, I dont know how they sell it as a PPV?

Marquez is still a LW just older slower and not as good. Manny is a full fledged two fisted welterweight. Marquez will get blown out of the water quickly.

I also hope not but going by dry statistics it will not last more than 1 round , maximum 2 and Pacquiao will b d winner .
I pray 4 Marquez not getting 2 seriously injured in this fight .

At this stage Marquez doesn't have the necessary reserves left to deal with Pacquiao, especially at this weight. I expect a stoppage down the stretch. In fact I think it'd reflect badly on Pacquiao if he were to fail to get one.

As for their previous two, the last time I scored them I actually did have the first a draw, and I had the rematch for Marquez by one point. It's been years since I've scored either, though.

I had the first fight 115-112 Pacquiao, I had the second fight 114-114.

I expect this fight to be a pretty dominant win for Pacquiao. He has improved, Juan Manuel has declined.

Based on Pacquiao's personality and d decline in his hunger as can b witnessed in his fight vs Mosley , Pacquiao might respect d elderly and carry him 2 a safe UD in another friendly sparring session .

Next year we'll get Mayweather vs Amir Khan and Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley. They're both running out of halfway viable alternatives.

You know what though, if Mayweather and Pacquiao aren't going to fight each other and aren't going to retire then I'm glad for the likes of prime fighters like Khan and Bradley to fight them. One thing I'm not up for is the likes of Mosley and **** fighting them, it's stale man, boxing must move on man. I'll always celebrate fighters that have come and gone, but boxing must move on. These two ****s should just fight each other now, it's getting gay now, it was getting a bit absurd about a year ago.

Obviously I will be roundly accused of bias, but I truly believe that Mayweather wants nothing to do with this fight, never has, and never will. All the events related to this prospective fight since 2009 scream this out to me. But that's a side-issue to be honest, the important thing is that the fight isn't happening, and so I too am glad for guys like Khan and Bradley, I'd also much rather see young, hungry fighters getting chances rather than see engineered mismatches like Mayweather vs Marquez or pointless cherrypicks like Pacquiao vs Mosley.

yeah, I hate boxing politics and hardly ever get into it, except to have a rant haha, like the thing with David Haye and Audley Harrisson which infuriated me man. I probably need to be more of a realist and less of a purist but I am what I am. And as you say the important thing is the fight isn't happening, hige slap in the face to all of us.

I think that Khan is a tough fight for Mayweather. No joke. He might actually have the style to give him more problems than Pacquaio would. Khan, without question, has better long range skills than Pacquaio. Better jab, for sure. However, Pacquaio is a more skilled pressure fighter, with a more rounded inside game.

Just depends on what you think is the best way to beat Mayweather. Personally, I think that an all out pressure approach isn't the best way. I think that a fighter who hangs back a bit behind the jab, with occasional attacks, would have the best chance.
