Seems like Arum and Pulello(Freitas's promoter) are actually talking about this fight and selling it as congressman vs congressman. Brazil seems to be where they want to have it.

At what weight?? Freitas did win a fight at Jr. Middleweight against a decent prospect.. Maybe 140 or 147?? Semi intriguing..

The only way I'd consider this remotely intriguing is if there were some kind of international dispute settled between the 2 nations.

There's a point that this fight would have excited me. 2013 is not that point.

Yep! He came out of a 5+ year retirement and kicked the **** out of Michael Oliveira. Still though, I can't believe this is being genuinely considered.

I can't see it happening and, like most, find it a complete mismatch. Big Dan wrote an article about it today and said that the promoters have only spoken briefly about it but do plan on having real conversaitions about it since they are both in Denver for the Provodnikov-Alvarado fight.

Trying to find a way to make the most amount of money... Freitas is beloved in Brazil, Manny is who he is.. Also Pacquiao needs to rebuild himself for what might be the last leg of his career.

Also, it would be good for Brazil being that the Olympics will be there maybe 2 years after this fight happens.. Generate some money..

Yeah. This might be a good fight for Pacquio but sadly it's a bad fight for boxing fans.

If Manny generates a whole bunch of $$$ fighting Freitas in Brazil then he's basically tapping into a new audience and showing Floyd what a big star he still is.

This is like... Horrible that it's not completely dismissed by absolutely everyone including the fighters and the promoters.

Money is money though. If he makes more fighting Popo than anyone else, which I find hard to believe, than Pacquiao has got to go for it.

Beyond pointless utterly stupid stupidest thing ever though.

Not a bs rumor, there's a pretty easy to find article about it, by someone most likely more connected than you.

Call me crazy, but the Popo who emerged from retirement and thrashed Oliveira probably does better against Pacquiao than Rios. :conf
