This will be the fight that finally retires Barrera. He couldnt find that 5th gear against Marquez and at this stage wont against Pacquiao. Old-School heads say if a fighter ko's a fighter the 1st time. He usually gets it done faster and worse the 2nd time. With barrera in the twilight of his career this seems the likely scenario. Barrera will try his damndest but it wont be enough. He may even be more competitive. But same result if not faster.
One thing that's hard to figure out, is why Barrera dealt with the hard hitting southpaw Hamed so easily, but had such trouble with Pacquaio. I know that Hamed's and Pacquaio's styles are different, but it seems like Barrera should have had more success against Pacquaio than he did. Did Barrera take Pacquaio lightly, or is it a case of two styles not matching up competitively?
Barrera will definitely have to be careful, but I don't think that he'll get blown away early. Morales fought a terrible fight in the rubbermatch against Pacquaio....he fought like he didn't want to be there, or didn't like his chances if it went into the late rounds....so he tried to stop Pacquaio early. Barrera is no master boxer, and he might not win the rematch against Pacquaio, but he's good enough so that if he wants to make sure that he doesn't get stopped early, he probably won't.
:good pac is too much like the first fight... the difference after the first fight is that pac improved and getting better and better :scaredas: :rofl
Great point. It was like he could not turn it on for a sustained amount of time against Marquez. Yes he fought a great fight, but if you have followed his career you know that he used to be able to sustain action. Still, picking from my heart, Barrera SD in a masterful last throwdown. :smoke
I love MAB. He is a legend. But, Im not stupid. Pacman gets him out inside of 5 rounds. If MAB pulls it off, its the upset of the century.
I have a feeling that Pacquiao might have a more difficult time with Barrera this time. If Barrera wants to make it a point to not get stopped, he probably won't....winning is another matter, but I don't think that Barrera will get ambushed this time.
Barrrera already knows the strategy of Pac, that is non-stop fight. If somehow Barrera can slow down Pac or keep up with the Pacman, then Barrera might have a chance. Other than that, it's a TKO. My guess is 6th round TKO.
