Im a big fan of Pacquiao, & I was utterly confident he would demolish Barrera until 2 days ago when I seen the HBO countdown. Now, Im not so sure.

you see, I believe Barrera when he said he couldnt get 'up' for fights anymore, including the Marquez fight(which I thought Barrera did enough to win) & that the only fight that motivates him is Pacquiao.

Now, if Barrera boxes, hes boring to watch, but effective as hell & is a nightmare for his opponents. If he fights behind that tight defence like he did against Hamed & Juarez & uses his jab, I think hes honestly got a chance of puling off the upset. But if he loses his temper for one moment in the fight & trades? hes a beaten man. Simple as.

But I think Barrera hs a big chance, especially as Pac isnt training much with the legendary Roach anymore, & that can only be a bad thing IMO. However, I dont blame pac for his apparent fall-out with Roach, as being snubbed by Roach for DLH must have been a kick in teeth for a modern day legend like Pacquiao.

I kinda agree this is the best Barrera have prepared since Hamed. No excuses this time and no posting hes shot when like you said he almost beat JMM

Yeah it will be a closely contested fight for as long as it last. I don't believe it will last 12 rounds. Somebody will be caught with a solid punch and will buckle down. :yep

Most probably yes, Barrera will try to step around Pacquaio but I don't see him being succesful because Pacquaio has learned to cut off the ring so well.

Safest prediction is Pac by K.O. or T.K.O. inside 10 rounds.

Nah, He's really going to win this one for Mexico.. He will die in the ring before he loses. Its all about pride, dignity, family and country. Didnt you watch the HBO show??:D

I want to say this is an easy choice in Pacquiao.

But MAB looked good last fight...even in losing...I think it will at least be a much tougher fight...MAB in top form is every bit the boxer and puncher as morales or JMM who gave Pac hell.

Pacquiao didn't look very good at the weigh-in....I'm not sure if that means anything, but it could be that the reports of him starting training late were true.

    Welcome to ESB.

I'm going to go with Barrera by decision....but I'm definitely not 100% confident in that prediction.

Very interesting take. I also bought Barrera's "motivation" line. Call me a sucker.

I disagree with the plan for Barrera though. That plan will get him the distance, but it won't win him the fight. One thing that hit me the other day is that Manny's head movement and willingness to throw with power at distance and from any angle, makes Barrera's jab virtually useless. He is going to have to find a way to land power shots against Manny, and lots of them, and he can only do that by coming forward.

Manny's right hand is better than it was, but he's also older, heavier, and more accustomed to stalking than he once was. Barrera may not have much left in the tank, but keep in mind that he took horrific punishment against Manny in a fight where he was less than 100% going in, and still made it eleven rounds.

Tonight's fight will be a treat to watch. I want to leave it that way, but man do the 4-1 decision odds for Barrera look tempting.
