yeah he has that vulnerableness to him, it's hard to hate the guy

leading on from the movement comment i think he can move on the back foot these days without being scared like against margo 1 and pac

Correct. He did a great job to be very on the offensive while retreating from pressure against the "Cementito" fight. On one or two occations he did fool Floyd as well and attacked while on the back foot.

I really like when he is on the back foot, imediately reverses 180 and returns with a combo. Did this very well agains Cementito and FMJr.

People call Khan and Dirrell runners, but then give Cotto a pass..smh. Cotto doesn't have the athletic qualities of foot speed and coordination of a Tim Bradley to outbox Pac effectively. Nor is he as versatile as switching from defense to offense. He's going to in full retreat lie he did the first fight, the moment Pac hits him with something he doesn't see and hurts him. I agree with this. Cotto also TRAINED HIMSELF for the Pacquiao fight and was trying to rebuild his career after getting plastered against Margarito. Not to mention the 145lb Catchweight.

Roach ain't ****ing with Cotto at 154lbs. It would be another catchweight if the fight did come off and it would be another bull**** fight.

I wish they'd both do the sport a favor and like at the end of Rocky III: both throw a punch at the same time and ko eachother. It'll be a great day for us real boxing enthusiasts when these two plodding sluggers 'retire' or get busted for the cheaters they are.

Are you saying that Miguel is a cheater?

Cotto said the weight wasn't an issue. Cotto was doing just fine until he got caught. Training and the catchweight didn't beat Cotto. Manny Pacquiao's punches beat Cotto. Watch the fight and pay attention to the in between rounds. You can literally SEE the confidence leaving Cotto's face. Round 1 had Cotto nodding his head all super smooth and gangsta, brimming with confidence because nothing flush had landed yet. After Round 3, the panic set in.

He should layoff on those jabs. Even Mr. Tijuana who forced emmanroid to the ropes for **** with the jab didn't do it with those power drop step jabs Cotto(e) likes to use, what most of esb thinks is a ideal jab even though the jab wasn't designed with the intent of being a powershot in mind.

That commitment demanding heavy plunging jab is why he kept eating str8 left counters from emmanroid. You know something is wrong when a shorter southpaw can throw his str8 with less time than you can your jab. Miguel was opening his window and telling someone to throw a football, the American kind, inside every time he let that Miguel Cotto(e) jab go. He brought a business suit instead of a tux to a black tie event thinking his Latino heat would be hot enough to get him through only to get his AZZ kicked out. It leaves him wide open. Perhaps he can figure out how to use his right hand to catch emmanroid's str8 left like Timmeh did--Miguel even has the benefit of using fatter chunkier 10oz gloves.

Stick to the lighter jabs the way Timmeh did. His lighter jabs had emmanroid befuddled especially in the championship rounds. I don't know when this notion that a jab has to land in order to be effective came into existence for the modern era, but much of esb couldn't grasp how Timmeh's jab was effective since it didn't visibly do any damage. Timmeh was able to use his jab to set up other punches and maintain distance, the stuff a jab was created for.

Be patient and aware of timing as the opportunity to work inside will present itself even in the center of the ring, Miguel took advantage of this in the first fight and Juan was able to do it recently too.

He maintains his guard to protect his asset, his handsome infamous paper face. It's true, it sells him out for shots that loop around it or undercuts from below, but it's his turtle shell against str8 shots. When was the last time you seen anyone cut from a temple shot or uppercut? The velocity of str8 shots and where they typically land are better suited for cutting. Keeping his head low covers the nerve filled areas, the cheekbones and below. He offers his big shiny bald head which is a hard war helmet in comparison.

Minus a couple known haters and slightly unbright folks this thread is pure quality. I simply feel mr pac brought forth to many physical advantages in their first fight, clearly I'm not speaking of size but more speed, fast twitch muscle reaction etc, etc. if cotto has gotten wiser and PAC has slightly diminished physically this can be an interesting fight for sure.

Watched the fight again last night... Cotto was tired after round 4 in that fight. Yes Manny decked him but the real KO came at 145lb catchweight.

    Scale Victory 101.

a healthy Miguel beats Manny with a stiff jab ALL night long and possible KOs him late.

PEDs and Scales.... No fair. :rasta
