getting in and out isn't gunna be easy against someone with timing like floyd, having said that cotto put up a good fight and gained even more respect doing so :good

come on man, so whenever pac doesn't do great you're just gunna say 'well yeah, pac is shot now, means **** all' and give no credit to the other fighter? Yes pacman isn't what he was in 09 but he is still an unbelievable fighter. you said that floyd waited for cotto to be shot before he fought him, so surely if manny is slipping and cotto is shot it is fair?

i'm not even saying cotto would win, i haven't decided yet but come on man.

    I don't see a different outcome.
Different fight maybe as Cotto might be stronger but not that much.
    Pacquiao UD or late tko.

(Let's not compare it with the Mayweather fight...I think Pacquiao is all wrong for Cotto...and Mayweather is all wrong for Pacquiao...)

you can find my previous posts from years ago. i have been saying that pac was slipping slowly since the margo fight. mostly his fire was gone ever since he became a politician. boxing is not his passion anymore. couple that with almost 18 years of ring age with a style that does not suit longevity.

Pacquiao will struggle with any big name fighter if he's not the same. Floyd, Cotto, Bradley or JMM all can trouble him.

Let me tell you something, the rematch doesn't take place because Cotto is not fighting at 147 anymore and Pac doesn't wanna take a risk to fight him at 154. So, it needs to be another catch-weight fight (at 150 probably) which I think Cotto is not going to agree.

IMO, Pac will beat Cotto again at 150 but it's not gonna be easy for him.

No he didn't. He arguably won a close 1st round. That is all.

I think I only gave him the first. One round I had him winning until he was knocked down.

    The first four were competitive.

Cotto is too damn slow to beat Pac.

Both are less than what they were 3 yrs ago, but Cotto's fallen more than Pac. He lacks the defense or the chin to stand up to Pac. By the end of the 1st fight, Pac was basically carryin him. Don't even see the point of a rematch.

He definitely does better, not sure about winning, but it would definitely be more competitive.

Cotto's improved lateral movement, combined with Pacquiao's recent trouble with lateral movement/movement away from his straight left will make it a lot more competitive. Given the fact that Cotto has already been in with Pacquiao will make him a lot more wary in terms of being wreckless. He won't have that, 'I'm the bigger man, so if all else fails, I'll start swinging' mentality that got him in trouble the first time around.

Cotto is a lot more focused and in love with the sport, whereas Pacquiao has gone the opposite direction. Cotto's improvement in his defense, footwork, right hand, combination punching will do him wonders.

I'm not underrating Pacquiao though. He hasn't declined as badly as some people in this thread are claiming, and given the fact that he already has a 12 round stoppage over Cotto...he goes in with a mental edge.
