I don't know much about MMA but I've been told that he fights in a weak division and that was apparent in his last 2 fights.

MMA LHW a weak division? lol.
MMA MW is a strong division, too.

Pac doesn't have a chance in my view, due to the fact that Floyd beat the two guys he beat beforehand. It's not as impressive when you're fighting previously beaten fighters.

:sillyIts clear you dont know **** about mma so you shouldnt speak on it. Hatton was champion of his division way longer then Franklin was and Pac did it in more then one weight class. And just for the record Franklin only had the "chip" for a year n a half in Hatton was on top for 3+ years

    Why the hell not?

His fight with Hatton alone gave him his 4th lineal title in his fourth weight division. The only one who has ever done it in modern boxing.

While I agree that Silva's win at LHW is impressive, your argument that Pacquiao should not get the award because "Pacquaio has only defeated fighters who had recent defeats before him." is just plain ignorant. Besides, Silva's last two wins were hardly impressive, resulting to Dana White apologizing to the fans after the Leites fight

hahahahaha...go pray to your Calzaghe shrine a couple more hours.

None of the guys Silva dominated in his defenses were MMA P4P Top 10 material.

Also convenient that you left out Marquez who is currently the second-best fighter in the sport, having also won a linear title since LOSING to Pacquiao.

Pacquiao's won titles in 3 weight classes in that period.

Silva has been dominant but has not taken on any worthy challenges in the last 2 years that would be considered a superfight...I guess Franklin but is he Top 10 P4P?

For the hell of it: Joe Calzaghe ducked Roy Jones, Jr., Glencoffe Johnson, and Bernard Hopkins in their primes.

Hatton was never the dominant champion nor the only champion and like I said, he got spanked against Floyd beforehand.

Franklin was "the man" at MW for much longer than a year and a half.

Are you a boxing fan or MMA fan? Make up your mind...

In this boxing discussion forum, most boxing fans choose boxing over MMA 7 days a week...

We are in a boxing forum so definitely a boxer should win this poll and eventually this award...;)

Don't get your hopes up *******... the ESPY fight of the year awards are NEVER televised except for maybe on FNF.. so once again this "exposure" factor that you're talking about is non-existant.

Besides, the real reason I said that the award doens't mean **** is because of it's significance. Everyone knows that the award simply goes to the most popular fighter at the time and not necessarily the most accomplished fighter of the year. So by those standards the award really shouldn't mean jack****. I've seen plety of more worthy fighters being passed up on the award simply because they weren't as popular as the fighter who actually received the ESPY. Not much of a trophy if you ask me, and that goes to all sports that the ESPY is awarded to. It simply doens't mean anything other than a good time at an award show.

I know you'd like it to mean something because you're beloved Pacboy is getting his acclaim, but no matter how much you pee your little pants over it that won't make the trophy worth two shits. :p

Light-heavyweight is the most talented division in the UFC.

ESPN will ALWAYS give it to the biggest star. Out of this 4, that's Manny of course. I think what Machida did was more impressive though. He beat two prime, undefeated fighters and captured the title. I'm not understating Manny's accomplishments. I just think Machida is insanely gifted and did some great things this past year.
