I'd take my British logic over your shitty "style" excuses for Clottey not being a puncher (but really he is, right :huh) any day of the week.

It's pretty obvious, and kind of goes without saying, that Pacquaio moving up in weight might/will effect his power punching ability. But given his devastating power at 140, I think its a big strech to somehow suggest that 5lbs higher his power is going to miraculously fail to materialize.

But whatever, if you think thats the case, fair enough, perfectly reasonable opinion. Better than your first one at least.

He slaps.....That is a fact. And no, go look up a clip your own damn self cuz I ain't digging one out for you.

He went for the KO against Corrales when he fought him and his slaps couldn't get him out of there.

I was actually with the idea that Clotteys punchers harder than Pac, until I saw this post.

    Pac punches harder *****! :good

Right, don't let facts get in the way of a good debate eh?

So, Clottey's style means that he is a puncher, but doesn't get KO's.

And by your, "logic", if were are going to talk "logic", that means Trinidad wasn't a puncher, but his style was conducive to KO's?

Does this "logic" apply to all fighters then?

Because its a pretty revolutionary idea you've got there.

I'm waiting for someone to make the case for Clottey hitting harder than Pacquaio. Even at 145, that's not exactly a well-thought out opinion.

    Devastating power at 140? :huh

Why...cuz Hatton was a deadman walking since his fight with Collazo?

    Yea...REEEAAAALLL power.

And yes it could very possibly fail to materialize. Pacquiao weighed 148 against Diaz. It's what he's been weighing for his past 3 fights. Keep in mind that @ 140...you have guys that rehydrate roughly to around the same weight. Not the same story @ WW. You have guys weighing around 154 to 160...sometimes 165. These are going to be much bigger men.

Just look at what happened to Darchinyan. The man was climbing up the ranks blowing guys out of the water with his power. Then comes Agbeko (who I admit thought was going to get smoked) and all of a sudden his power didn't translate and he lost a very lobsided decision...You'll be surprised as to why 5 lbs make a difference...and keep in mind this is a catchweight. Cotto will make it just fine and rehydrate to normal and you'll witness the difference for yourself.

Do you think it would have taken Clottey nine rounds to stop David Diaz?

Normally I'd call this a stupid question, but you're making it an appropriate one here.

Why would it be ridiculous to say that? I would say Pac has more power than Hatton at 140, who would have thought before Pac moved up from LW that he would? Clottey is no puncher, if Pac carries his punch to 147 again...then he will definitely have more power than Clottey. So far Pac has carried his power up everytime he's jumped weight, so im inclined to say that yes, he will hit a lot harder than Clottey.

    He will stop Cotto.

He was a great puncher and his style produced much quicker KO's because of it. Had he been more conservative with his power shots...we'd see more 10 to 12 round KO's being delivered...and morons of your boxing knowledge would call him an "accumulaton" puncher.

Just look at AA. The man CLEARLY has power...but most of his KO's come when?...Towards the final rounds...anywhere usually between 9 to 12. Look at what happened to Miranda when he lets his hands go. But he's a smart fighter so he conserves his energy for all 12. Clottey tries to employ the same tactic, but I wouldn't say he's on AA level of power...but he DOES have power.

Clottey might not even stop David Diaz.....Diaz is tough as nails and you gotta really beat him up before you can get him out of there.

I agree...enjoyed the size advantage against Cotto so he was able to do a bit more without having to really show a lot of ring generalship and movement. But Cotto usually has great ring generalship anways so it was a very compelling stylistic match up. I thought Josh was going to win but Cotto impressed me A LOT. He was cut early, worked through the situation and stayed to his game plan. Now....it was a very close fight and could have gone to Josh, but I think Josh didn't perform like a champion with all his complaining and crying trying to get Cotto in trouble. he should have focused on the fight and let the ref do what he does.

PAC can't fight the way Josh did with Cotto b/c he's not as big or as strong, but PAC is faster and more explosieve with consistant work rate. He'll be an entirely new puzzle that will cause Miguel some trouble come Nov 14th. It should be a good FIGHT early on....maybe the intial 4 or 5 rounds..but after that I see Manny begin to take the fight completely and begin to pick Miguel apart. For me Cotto is VERY GOOD......PAC is GREAT. And the only thing that makes this fight compeitive is the fact that Miguel is going to be the much bigger man who can take more punishment than Manny could. The punishment part is the key.....I just dont think Miguelhas the speed, or dynamics to inflict the kind of punishment that will be necessary for him to win the fight. The difference in talent is going to be pretty substantial between PAC and Cotto which will ultimately have PAC winning inside 12.

He very well could. But not because he's "a bigger puncher." It's due to his non-stop assault. If he blitzd Cotto the way I expect him to...he very well may stop him. But not from his power. Im not saying his power is non-existent...but it's not as big as Clottey's.

And how would you know Pac has more power than Hatton at 140? Because Hatton's chin has been gone since his fight with Collazo? I mean ****in' Lazcano nearly had his ass out of there! And we're supposed to be amazed that he KO'd Hatton in 2? Granted...it was much better than we thought...but I wasn't shocked.
