I hear that. In all honesty, I think there is a truckload of $ to be made for a Mosley/Pac fight at Staples Center in L.A. w/ Pac getting his $12mil and mosley getting $6mil
Agreed. Mosley already agreed to a 40-60 split and conceded the weight limit. Surely Oscar can pony up as much cash for Pacquiao as he is paying Floyd for the Marquez fight, no? :huh
You would think so, two legends like Pac and Mosley, that's gotta be the most action packed fight out there to be made. Mosley has to become a better self promoter and put Oscar on blast to get this fight made, hes too laid back
I don't think so. In recent years, Mosley has seamlessly made the move from 147 to 154 back down to 147 back up to 154 and back again down to 147 without much issue. He is a gym rat, and thus far, his body seems to adjust fairly well without having a major impact on his performance level. Mosley KO5 Pac :smoke
There were rumours that PAC will be getting around $16 million for the Cotto fight... Assuming it's a $24 million pot, Cotto could get $8 million in a 67/33 purse split... .
Exactly, the fighter should have the last word, i don't understand why freddie roach has to get all in the mix and put bugs in Manny's ear, especially when negotiations were going good. Everyone seemed fine with fighting @ 145 until roach came in the picture.
Roach is messing things up a bit. Manny said he was fine with 145 because he didnt want Cotto to risk his health by making unhealthy weight. Masnny is comfortable at higher weight. Cotto isnt at the lower weight. If roach is going to insist on 143 Cotto should look for another fight.
I'm more concern of Cotto's cut to heal properly in 5 months than Cotto going down to 144 .... I can see this fight eventually made at 144 ... .
Roach is doing what he's supposed to and that's take care of his fighter and make sure things are fair. Pacquiao isn't even supposed to be at 140 let alone 147, why give these guys all the advantage?, asking for a catchweight makes it fair in terms of size. We're talking about future opponents like Mosley, Mayweather, Marquez and Cotto. These guys aren't scrubs and are all elite fighters and keeping things fair is only reasonable.
hmm says... I see it at 144 lbs like I predict.. midway between light and full WW. It's smart that Cotto doesn't accept. Anything (catchweight) short of being reasonable in terms of not evening the playing field is bs (especially since he's being compared to Armstrong). Years from now, I don't want to hear the legend of Pac being tarnished with the fact of him fighting drained welters. Fix the weight Roach...
