I really like Clottey, so I hope he'll be more ready than ever. On the other hand It'll be a shame if Pac lost because he really isn't supposed to if the Floyd fight is going to be the superfight that all have been waiting for. I give Manny props for taking this fight btw, but I'm not so excited about Margarito, he will have to do something extraordinary to redeem himself in my eyes.

The only fight that GBP can put together to surpass this is PBF-Mosley/Berto

How in the hell does he do that? Margo could not hit Mosley and went life or death with Cotto with rocks in his gloves. A Pac-Margo fight is ridiculous after what Mosley did to Margo. Pac is a ***** if he fights Margo before Mosley. Clottey is a much more legit opponent for Pac than Margo.

Anybody else rather see them skip the formalities and just go Tony vs Pacquiao?

Listen I know the situation sucks here and they've got to put on SOME form of fight...but Clottey? Really? Clottey isn't a draw, has a small fan base in the dozens and for what might be boxing's biggest fight of the year? He really isn't that qualified. His resume has a loss to Margo, a loss to Baldo and a loss to Cotto on it. All three are controversial losses which bares mentioning...but they're still losses. Clottey's biggest win is Zab Judah. Zab Judah is so past his expiration date that not even flies will go near him. I'm not saying Clottey isn't a good fighter, he's a solid fighter who is a good name to have on your resume regardless of whether you win or lose. He's just not a PPV main event guy even against a Manny Pacquiao.

I'm just asking if Top Rank is prepared to deal with the potential ramifications if and when this event goes belly up on PPV.

Actually, I would rather see Pacquiao-Margarito that's not that bad of a suggestion

I'm the biggest Cotto fan on this site that doesn't belong in an insane asylum....but that wasn't proven. You can't say he did it when there's no evidence that he did. Not only that....but if nobody from Camp Cotto went over there to check Margo's wrappings as it's been implied then Cotto deserved what he got.

I'd prefer Mosley to Margarito as well but there's no guarantee that Mosley will be an option if Berto somehow pulls off the upset.

I'm just going to ask how. Mainly because I don't quite understand how Clottey is more legit than a guy who he lost to already.

Enough is enough. Okay, Pacquiao has successfully moved up in weight higher than anybody thought possible...there needs to be a statute of limitations though. Too big is too big. DLH was skeletal, so write that one off. Cotto is a small welterweight...Margarito a large one (probably closer to a natural 154) - that was supremely evident when they fought. I've maintained (as have Pacquiao, and Roach themselves before later contradicting themselves with the Foreman rumors) that despite his odds-defying feats of the past, 154 and anybody who's naturally that size is just a step too far for Manny. Same is true of any big, strong, natural welterweight. (just because Cotto eventually had trouble making 140 does not make him a big strong natural welterweight - he is NOT one).

What do you think, is he going to challenge the Super Six winner after clearing out welterweight?

He did his time, stayed relatively quiet about the incident and was a good boy. Boxing is pretty liberal when it comes to rule breakers. For exhibit A, I point to James Toney.

'Sides it was only proven for one fight...unless they somehow got documented evidence or a confessional that he did it in multiple fights, they pretty much did the best they could.
