Update: Team Hatton is ready to pull the plug:

    Ray Hatton:

"We have the offer of another massive fight in the summer, in the British Isles, which would bring a crowd of 80,000 or more.

We are extremely serious in our threat that we will pull the plug on Pacquiao and go for that alternative if that contract is not signed. We will not be messed around."

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Update:

    PacMan's own promoter, Bob Arum:

"There's no way he's getting the 60-40. Unless he comes to his senses and his people start acting intelligently. We'll see if we can keep it together, but the split is supposed to be 50-50. We've all agreed to it. Now, people are whispering in Pacquiao's ear. If they keep pushing for 60-40, Hatton and Schaefer are pulling the plug."

    PacMan's own trainer, Freddie Roach:
"I hope they can come to an agreement but right now they're at a standstill. I hope the fight happens, and I think 50-50 is a good deal. I agree with it, because Hatton brings a lot of people from the U.K. I hope I can get Manny on board."

Now what you guys who think PacMan deserves 60/40?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He thinks 60/40 is fair. :patsch

Now let me tell you something Pacquiao: Ricky Hatton is not only the true world champion in the division you are trying to compete, but internationally, he's the bigger draw. No way in hell Hatton should accept PacMan taking more than 50%. Not only did he agree to fight in Vegas (where not only Floyd knocked him out but Cortez did a very biased referee's job), it's the place where unlike on the experts' scorecard, PacMan recieved the judges decision vs. Marquez.

I think there's a true warrior out there who'd jump on the 40% easily, the one PacMan thinks he can beat. So, let him fight Antonio Margarito.

Pac is the bigger draw internationally IMO.

The purse discrepancy should be no more than 60/40 for Pac though.

Pure greed on Paquiaos part.Thats all it is.Hatton is the recognized 140lb world champ, beaten only once,Pacquiaos no1 p4p(whilst Floyd jr is retired) but Pacquiaos not interested in what the people want he just wants the more $$$.It should be 50/50 and he should accept it,Hatton will.

***** please, pacquiao is the draw. the number of filipino-americans in the US alone number in the millions and a large percentage of that number is guaranteed to buy the ppv, go to vegas etc...... not to mention the TV rights being bought by filipino stations, and the sponsorship deals by filipino companies. other demographic groups such as mexican-americans would probably buy this fight more likely because of pac, than hatton. pac's ppv's have also done solid numbers, though i think hatton's numbers are'nt bad either. 40% from a fight with pacquiao will probably earn hatton more money, than any fight with possible opponents. it's ulikely oscar fights him, and pbf is looking for a fight with pac before a hatton rematch. hatton can drop the fight if does'nt want 40%, while pacquiao would still have a fight (and a deathwish) against pbf or other options open to him.

I think this one has 50.50 written all over it.

And no, Pacquiao is not the bigger draw - some of you guys think Pac would carry more fans to England than Hatton will carry to Vegas?

Pac is not a bigger draw than Hatton though IMO, yes he has a huge fan base himself but the size of Hatton's is unreal. The fight should be split 50/50, maybe if the fight is going to happen at Wembley then pac could perhaps ask for 55/45 as very much of the crowd will be against him.

I think 50/50 is just fair.

I don't konw why Pac's camp insist on 60/40, it is definitely a showstopper.

i usually agree with, but i personally dont think thats an indicator of drawing power, more a difference of culture. i dont know any other ppl, other than the brits, that would travel thousands of miles and spend a lot of money for something as trivial as a sporting event.
