PP, if you truely believe Mayweather, with his level of opposition, is a top 5 ATG then that is your cross to bare mate, nor will I debate anyone who believes it. Where do you have Greb, SRL, SRR, Pep, Armstrong, Duran etc?
I think those fighters fought in a different era where achievements were more possible because things like networks, multiple bollocks weightclasses, multiple sanctioning bodies didn't exist. They were less prepared than fighters of today, less analysed and not as physically powerful for the weight classes they were in - that's what technology improvements do to all sports. When I talk about ATG, I talk about their ability to dominate anyone in their weight class. Sugar Ray Robinson is undoubtedly an ATG here, although even he had issues with certain prototypes and styles. Resume/achievements? it's just not possible today to fight 100-150 times with networks the way they are and the way money is. Nor are you going to see a guy fight one fighter as many times as Sugar Ray Robinson fought Jake La Motta for instance.
I don't know man. I heard enough of that the first go-round and the fight didn't pane out. If negotiations haven't started yet and we already have gotten some confusion then there is going to a mess from all wavelengths from Pac's team during this process. They need to keep this stuff quiet if they can. Hopefully the steroid talk gets done in private like Lampley suggested. That makes the most sense so it doesn't hurt or further damage Pac's reputation (Although further enticing the idea might make him prideful to prove Mayweather wrong). The negotiations should be all the same controversial and messy. It will seem like Deja Vu I think, and I hope I'm wrong.
You heard it here first guys, Robinson, Ali, and Marciano are actually physically weaker than the fighters of today.
Without question they are. That's why baseball hitters hit the ball further Sprinters run faster Marathon distance runners maintain pace longer Shotputs throw shots further No sport is above physical changes bought on through nutrition, technology and such
