Despite what anyone may say, Pacquiao was not born into boxing capable of handling a world class mauler. If he beats a 100% prime Hatton, he'll become a religious figure for the hardest of the hardcore boxing purists. The fight itself should provide the perfect backdrop. Tears of joy. Tears of Joy. Goodspeed, Manny.

You must first understand the difference between lineal title and an Alphabet title (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO).

The lineal title represents the history of the weight class. It is established when the two most DOMINANT conterder fights to create the lineage (line, reign). Once the lineage is establish, it will only be lost when the fighter vacates, retires or lost it in the ring. The lineal title may or may not be attached to ABC title. Ex: Pacquia was NOT a titlist @ 126, he has no alphabet title, but he won the LINEAL title from Barrera, who won it from Hamed, who won it from Vazquez, whicg goes back to Eusebio Pedroza. The 126 lineage was broken when Pacquiao moved up to 130. There are four titlist in 126......WBA, WBC, IBF & WBO champions but no lineal champion. The lineage could only be established if the two top contenders ( John and Levuano i think) would fight to determine the best of the division.

For this 140 fight between hatton, the IBO title is not important and there are no major ABC at stake. What is important is the LINEAL title (not the ring although it usually comes along with it) which hatton carries when he won over tszyu.

Pedroza established the lineage during 1980's i think. It was a long lineage and it was in fact strengthened by Hamed who defeated all other titles. He never held all four major titles at the same time because of boxing politics, but it was enough to clearly show that he was the champ going into the barrera fight.

lineal belt traces from salvador sanchez and not from pedroza
either way, hamed is recognized as 126 champ in his time beating soto and vazquez

I know the difference however when people speak about the IBO title and 6 division titlist, if they recognize the IBO, Hearns still has to be seen as a 6 division titlist. I was not talking about the lineal title.

That's because ******s only chase the negative posts and leave the positive/informative aside because they lack the mental ability to understand what's going on.

Please name the great fighters he didn't fight. Also, I would highly appreciate it if unlike ******s you do mention names he COULD have fought regardless of situation. As you know the majority of newbies tend to throw out names like making fights is boxing is as easy as making fights in WWE.
