    From THE RING:

LAS VEGAS – Eight-divsion titlewinner Manny Pacquiao, rapper 50 Cent (aka, Curtis Jackson) and the boxer's advisor, Michael Koncz, could meet as early as Friday concerning a joint promotional venture, Koncz informed RingTV.com on Wednesday night.

Jackson is attempting to become a promoter in the wake of having launched TMT ("The Money Team") Promotions initially with Floyd Mayweather Jr., although the future of that company as well as his union with Mayweather could be in question.

"I've had several conversations and meetings with 50. They approached us with an idea of forming a joint promotional company. I've discussed that with Manny, Manny is excited about it. We have MP Promotions, they have TMT Promotions," said Koncz.

"I think that it brings a different flavor with the connections that 50 Cent has in the entertainment industry, and with Manny's influence with boxers in the sport. Bringing that together, I think, is good for boxing. I'm hoping that this weekend we can finalize it."

Jackson already has obtained a promotional license in New York, according to New York State Athletic Commission director Melvina Lathan, and has applied for one in Nevada, according to Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer.

Kizer said Jackson's application has yet to be processed.

"I've written two e-mails to 50 Cent's office asking what, if any role, Mr. Maywather is playing in his promotional company or his promotional team, TNT Promotions, and I have yet to receive any sort of response," said Kizer.

"Floyd Mayweather's name does not appear anywhere on the application," filed by 50 Cent seeking to become a promoter, "only Curtis Jackson's" name is on the application, said Kizer.

Koncz said that he is not sure whether Mayweather would be involved.

"That's up to Floyd. If Floyd wants to be part of it, Manny's excited about Floyd possibly joining it," said Koncz. "I've not had any discussions with Floyd, so I can't answer for Floyd. The door is always going to be open for Floyd to be a part of this group, because I think that it's good for boxing."

In the meantime, both Koncz and Top Rank CEO Bob Arum have confirmed that a deal has been reached for Pacquiao to face an opponent on Dec. 8 at the MGM Grand.

The is mounting speculation that the choice is a fourth bout Juan Manuel Marquez rather than a rematch with Timothy Bradley.

Pacquiao is scheduled to be in Los Angeles on Friday, and also has a Sunday for an appearance on a game show, Manny Many Prizes.

RingTV.com has learned that Bradley is being targeted for a defense in New York in November if he is not chosen.

A Bradley rematch would offer Pacquaio a chance to avenge his controversial loss to Bradley on June 5. Pacquiao has two victories and a draw against Marquez. But both wins, first a split decision and then a majority decision, were controversial.
