Effectively he wasn't because Team Pac basically said they don't plan to test.

I wonder if anyone will say Pac is picking on little guys versus Valero?

Kind of... but I think the implication is still that PBF would still be the first (aka most lucrative) choice between all 5 potential matches.

I agree. I think both camps are trying to raise their bargaining stock. Unfortunately for Pac the Clottey fight did not do that. I think that is the real reason behind this, "Hey we have other options..." statement. This way they test the fan reaction and put a little early pressure on the Mayweather/Mosley winner.

I talk crap, but the Valero fight might be interesting.

you want to shut his mouth? go ahead then, what are you waiting for? all of this just because he said he could knock pac's ass. you jealous or something that you're not the one knocking pac's ass?

people need to think of it this way: If Valero KO's Peterson something that Bradley could not do then Pacquiao vs Valero will be a legitimate, good fight. I don't think he can knock out Peterson but if he does then I underrated Valero.

If Marquez fights a meaningful name like Bradley, Alexander, or Khan and wins... something that is quite possible... Pac vs Marquez at 140 will be a huge fight.

we'll see what happens. if mosley beats floyd, then yes there would be a rematch, but if there wasn't theres still not a chance pacquiao will fight him at 147. roach wanted mosley at 142 by just looking ok against cotto, imagine what roach would think if mosley beats floyd. he'll probably ask for 135. if floyd beat mosley, then pacquiao won't budge with the testing date. arum doesn't want either of them fights. he's probably going to put pacquiao in with another one of his fighters.

I hate to sound like a crass, uneducated ***** but **** Margarito. How the hell can that scum Arum put him as a contender when guys like Bradley have worked their ass off to move up the latter? Margo doesn't even have a license in America for crying out loud. I don't care if it's an unrealistic match but just mentioning his name as a possible opponent for Pac is a disgrace.

If you have any ounce of intelligence, this is the way his list should look like:

    1. Floyd
    2. Shane
    3. Bradley
    4. JMM
    5. Alexander
    6. Valero
    7. Paul Williams (say what you want about size disparity but it would still be an all action fight due to their styles)

PS. It's not so much that I don't want to watch a fight between Pac and Margo. I just don't think he deserves a golden opportunity. Now if they were to go at each other in a street fight w/o money involved, I'm there front row.

I like Pac vs. Margarito the most. Margarito is potentially the most dangerous, and Pac will get a lot of credit and converts if he beats Margarito, even though Margarito is now dubbed as a cheat. But he's still a dangerous cheat. I'm a fan of Valero, and I would not like for his young career to end too early. Valero should attain top 10 or even top 5 pfp status (which I think he can achieve) before fighting Pacquiao, because a Pacquiao fight might destroy him and his career. By then Pacquiao may have retired anyways. A fight with Marquez wouldn't be bad, but Marquez may not be able to be strong at 147 lbs. to make it competitive, and he's on the downside, while Pac is still moving up.

If Pac-Margo were to happen it would be a non competitive fight in my opinion. Cotto was dominating Margo for 6 rounds. If Cotto can do that to Margo, Pac can do it for 12 rounds straight and inflict heavy damage because of his power. Besides, you take away Margo's plaster and he has nothing but aggression. Limited skills, no power. Decent chin but definitely breakable. Easy target for Pac. Easy win. It would look a lot like Pac-DLH
