This is disappointing. Why is a Mexican boxing fan making a bitchy thread about Floyd Mayweather deserving more money than Manny Pacquiao? Playground garbage. :-(

here is the basic math, Mayweather beats Pacquiao across the board consistently. But let's answer doubts, lets take away Pacquiao and Mayweather's pre-De La Hoya PPVs

Mayweather:
4.) Mayweather vs De La Hoya - 2.4 million buys = $136.6 million revenue
5.) Mayweather vs Hatton - 920,000 buys = $50 million revenue
6.) Mayweather vs Marquez - 1 million buys = $52 million revenue
7.) Mayweather vs Mosley - 1.4 million buys = $78.3 million revenue

Pacquiao:
8.) Pacquiao vs De La Hoya - 1.25 million buys = $70 million revenue
9.) Pacquiao vs Hatton - 850,000 buys = $45 million revenue
10.) Pacquiao vs Cotto - 1.25 million buys = $70 million revenue
11.) Pacquiao vs Clottey - 700,000 buys = $35.3 million revenue


Mayweather-De La Hoya crushed Pacquiao-De La Hoya by nearly double.

Maywether-Hatton beats Pacquiao-Hatton by 70k, not even including the huge numbers from across the pond that Mayweather-Hatton did.

Mayweather's return fight against Marquez, who has never been a draw in his own right, loses by 250K to Pacquiao-Cotto, a fight between the 2 and 3 in boxing in terms of PPV buys.

Mayweather-Mosley destroys Pacquiao-Clottey by double, take away Mosley's fights with De La Hoya and he has no history of being a draw, Mosley-Mayorga in the Home Depot Center was nearly empty.

No lets start with the De La Hoya fight. If Pacquiao and Floyd are equal draws, 50-50 meaning they are even. Shouldn't their numbers be the same for that fight. your reply

 

you do have to consider the circumstances around those numbers atlanta. you're seriously not comparing pac-DLH (which most thought as a joke fight) against may-DLH (heavily marketed as a fight that would save boxing) right?

if you contend not to consider circumstances, they we may very well look into floyd's resume and say that he did not face a lot of top tier fighters. you say that mayweather took on baldomir instead of margarito because it made business sense. or that he failed to fight cotto, williams, etc because he was on retirement. but we can't say that just by looking at the resume. in your case, the numbers alone aren't an absolute way of gauging this. all they can do is give us a picture. pac offers something no one in boxing can offer to may at the moment. at least accept that. this fight generates a lot of interest and we all know how much is at stake legacy-wise for this fight. pac offers that much, because he has moved up the ranks and right now he is lb for lb number 1 and fotd. he has as much to offer as well. don't just look at the numbers.

 

he does have a point uli. if you opened up the thread with a methodology to concisely do the calculation then you can call it math. in this case, might as well change the title to "pacquiao and whatever formula" since we're not exaclty calculating anything right? otherwise, post here calculations regarding the ppv numbers and other factors that give precise output. that way when you come up with 60-40, no one can say anything about it.

this shows that floyd+DLH > than pac+DLH....a simple stupid man would say...oh yes...that means floyd is the draw...I guess you tought that don't you..don't be hard on yourself...just accept stupidity has no medicine...

aren't there factors that contributed to the fight bro? promotion, time of the fight. don't those factors contribute to drawing power which leads to revenue? if you factor those into a formula to come up with an end number which gives the purse split for the fight eg...30-70...until you don't please don't say you used math...

Talk to head bald slick...he has more sense than you...he said yesterday that boxing is not an exact science...he is right...

PPV, revenue etc are all subject to objectivity which cannot be quatified so stop quatifiying it.....
