I don't believe so. A 50/50 fight with Pacquiao could net Mayweather in the $70M-$80M range. He's not making that against Cotto.

First off, you have to consider that fact that the biggest money fight for either guy is eachother, and it's not close. Wlad was making much more than Haye in the bouts preceeding their bout. However, he couldn't make the money he would make against Haye that he could against anyone else. Haye's mouth, and crediblity as an opponent made him worth a lot more to Wlad than Haye had been worth the rest of his career. In the end, they settled on a 50/50 split. Think about this, Mayweather could make $30M-$40m against just about anyone. However, Pacquiao is the only fighter that could net him $60M-$70M.

Second, going along with my first point, you can't simply go off of fight purses from previous bouts. Because of how the Mayweather brand is constructed, he can net more money than Pacquiao. They don't negotiate fights the same way. In Mayweather's fights, he controls everything. He pays GBP a flat fee to help promote the fight, and negotiates with the network himself. He takes on more financial risk than Pacquiao, but reaps the bigger reward. As a result, a Mayweather and a Pacquiao fight could generate the same income yet yield Mayweather more money. In the end, I think revenue generated is a bigger factor in determining purse split than is past fight purses.

A 50/50 split between Floyd and Manny isn't really 50/50 between them, it's more like the 2 sides. The fight needs to be 50/50 and Floyd will still go home with money dough

According to an official document issued by the House of Representatives in the Philippines, current WBO welterweight champ, Manny Pacquiao has a net worth of approximately 1.134 billion PHP (Philippine Pesos), which comes out to just over 26 million in American Dollars. (The document takes into account all assets up to Jan. 1, 2011.)

Net worth is calculated by taking a persons total assets, then subtracting their liabilities. The figure quoted above takes into consideration all Pacquiao assets, including real estate and pay from TV and radio performances, public appearances, album sales, licensing, local and international endorsements as well as the money earned from his fights.

Generating approximately $384 million in revenue from his PPV events prior to last Mays Shane Mosley bout, alone, the shockingly low net worth tells the tale of a fighter either quickly going through his money or in desperate need of an independent accounting firm to deal with some pressing business issues.

Enter, VisionQwest Resource Group, Inc., an agency specializing in contract issues and tax concerns.

As reported in a press release Wednesday, Pacquiao has retained the services of VisionQwest to handle all business dealing as well as review all contracts from 2005 and going forward.

Team Pacquiao is currently being reviewed and the management team streamlined in order to create a more effective business unit. In the press release, the Los Angeles-based firm also announced that they had retained the services of a strong boxing business professional who has a solid background in fighter management and negotiations who will be involved in all future contract reviews.

Tales of fighters and money woes are, sadly, as much a part of boxings history as devastating knockouts and shocking upsets, but these things are never nice to hear.

Pacquiao is still a very wealthy man and will likely remain one for the rest of his life, but its worth noting that some people, somewhere are enjoying the money that, rightfully, belongs to him.

Now he should be worth more now but not by much. I really don't care what these guys make bc I am not getting paid any of it. I just find it strange that Arum is claiming that he is making all this money but his net worth released by his own damn country states that he is worth 26 million at that time.
