I wouldn't categorize Campbell as a slick fighter.

Pac vs Campbell would've been a good fight because Campbell had 3 titles. Instead when Pac beat JMM Arum put Pacquiao in a 135lb tuneup/title fight against one of his fighters, and then Pac went straight for Arum 3 divisions up.

That situation has nothing to do with either skin colour or style, but everything to do with in-house promotion and then the mega-fight with Oscar..

Exactly, that was part of my point. However, look at all the top fighters at 140 and 147. Name me some big fights he can take that don't involve slick fighters who happen to be black . He avoided slick fighters because they will trouble him. The risk/reward factor dictated that it wasn't worth it. However, pretty much all the top fighters around his weight class are slick fighters(who happen to be black). He now has a chance to conquer a style that his team has avoided putting him against. He has no choice but to fight these guys now.

Did they duck Guzman, I think so, but he's not African American. They wanted no part of him. Campbell, I don't think so, DLH and Hatton was already being talked about then. Those guys are better pocket and legacy wise. Campbell even gave Pacquiao kudos because he was doing his "thang thang" and trying to get paid. Campbell isn't really a slick fighter. At this point, who cares, Pacquiao is about to fight the best slick fighter of this generation.

    Plus he's African American.

Cause hes not just ask Robbie Peden?

And other than beating the overrated Diaz what the hell has Campbell done to be considered a threat to Pac or be deserving of a fight with Pac.

I think the word "black" is totally unnessecary though. Pacquiao hasn't fought many slick fighters regardless of race. Campbell first mentioned "black" as a desperate attempt to get himself a payday against Pacquiao but he shouldn't exploit race in that sense.

Nate Campbell being classless and ignorant is nothing new though.

The only slick fighter that you could make a case for him being ducked by Pac is Guzman, other than that there arent any slick around that Pac could've fought.

He now has the chance to fight the slickest fighter around and he will.

Are you saying Campbell is slick with good defense? Nah. He can't handle a fast fighter in Bradley what more with Pac?

Let's try again. Race and ethnicity are two different things. To be of Latino ethnicity, your nationality has to be of a country that was a former territory of Spain. However, your nationality does not determine your race. I am American, that is my nationality. However, my race is black. Think of say the Domincan Republic as The U.S. Everyone there is Latino, that is there ethnicity which is determined by their nationality. However, they are not all of the same race. Some are black, some are white, some are Native American, some are mixed. Therefore, you have black latinos, white latinos, Amerindian latinos, and mixed latinos. Guzman is an example of a black latino. His ancestry consists mostly of african blood, which makes him black. However, he lives in the Dominican Republic which makes him Latino as well.

I've been saying this for awhile Pac needs to fight and beat a black american for his legacy to be complete. That's just the way it is blacks have a rich tradition in this sport that can't be denied. You can't be a ATG boxer and finish your career and not have faced an elite black american fighter. everyone has done it Duran, Chavez, Oscar, Calzaghe just to name a few everyone that is but Pac. Put it like this if PBF went his whole career and had never faced a elite Mexican fighter people here would be up and arms and wouldn't let PBF live it down they would demand he fight a Mexican fighter or he would be labeled as ducking Mexicans and they're style no doubt about it and anyone who tells you they wouldn't bash PBF for it is full of ****.

It's no secret why Pac hasn't faced this style it's because he struggles with counter-punchers and his problem would be complicated by speed and defense. Pac is at home with guys who are willing to brawl with him and make defense an afterthought but guys who will strictly box him and employ defense will give him hell and his team knows this and they're really not interested in making these fights unless it's for huge money. Pac must fight a black american fighter before he hangs it up.

By slick, I mean they have smooth movements, good reflexes, and solid boxing fundamentals. Pac could beat Campbell, but the risk is not worth the reward. Diaz was tailor made for Pac and a much easier matchup.

I agree again. Pac is avoiding a style. Because that style is mostly employed by Black fighters, he's been accused of avoiding black fighters. That's faulty logic in my opinion.

Cotto also has no head movement, no chin, no denfense, and no right hand. He is very similar in that regards to Hatton, Diaz, and the version of Hoya Pac faced.
