Pacquiao and the deep end of the hall of fame

Im just curious, why is it that if someone speaks bad about PAC it automatically makes you a floydette? Especially when floyd wasnt even mentioned. Hell what if you dont like floyd either. This question goes both ways....

Well by todays logic the most popular fighter is hall of fame worthy and best P4P . 10 divisons 7 titles huh .So then part time divisions are included then ? I can agree Manny being top 50 but to 20 really who does he really rank above ??

 

I'm a Pac fan, but to think that Pac could hang with the top WWs of all time is f*&king ridiculous. Under 147, he's got a legitimate shot. Pac v Duran or Pryor would have been hellacious fights, but Pac would have come up short on both occasions, imho.

in general i agree with caneman. pac's accomplishments over the weight classes and consistently high level of competition, regardless of arguements of their worth at the time, make him a solid top 30. higher than that requires some convincing for me

 

i may not agree but this is a well thought out post. part of the issue may be different criteria for selecting greatness. it seems that you are choosing people that would beat him head to head (someone else brought this up, apologies can't remember who) and claiming they are greater. i would not put lamotta ahead of him for example on an all time list but certainly jake beats him in a fight. some of the others on your list, while h2h may win, are not locks to be higher ranked

 

again, like i said before i may not agree with everything you say but fair post:good however, just because there are people that would disagree doesn't mean that they don't know boxing.

this is a very subjective topic and all time position is not a science. there are overzealous pac fans, same as any other group. but putting his achievements into context arguments can certainly be made for high ranking.

as for augustus, you'll find he gets a TON of respect on here. i went to the jones/calzaghe fight almost as excited to see him as the main event but i wouldn't say he embarasses manny. prime for prime, at 140, i can't pick the drunken master over the manny that destroyed hatton
