Yes, he is an atg. His resume and floyd's are very comparable but the eye test, how they won their fights, and the fact that Mayweather never lost a fight he wasn't supposed to make me rate him quite a bit higher.

Using resumes alone to rate athletes is wrong imo. For instance, Kobe Bryant has a much better resume than Tim Duncan but TD is clearly the more impactful basketball player.

No ****in way. Not even close.
He is nothing but a juiced up swarmer.
    Skill is substandard.
Had some success against against some good opponents.
Definately rank Bradley, JMM. Canello, Cotto.ahead of him.
    Floyd way better than all.
Answer to your question is "no".
    He is not an ATG.

Pacquiao does not have a better resume.

Nobody was saying that before he beat De La Hoya, not even with his wins over Morales and MAB, and his faux win over Marquez. When he beat DLH, Hatton, and Cotto, that was when the talks of Pacquiao being superior started. And yet, Mayweather already had wins against younger, fresher versions against 2/3 of those guys. Including fighting DLH at his own weight class, and knocking out a Ricky Hatton who was undefeated and full of confidence.

Then you have Clottey; good win. Mosley coming off 0-1-1. Margarito who was no where to be seen in any top 10 lists in either 147 or 154. While Floyd had Marquez in 2009 which he completely dominated, and to this day, Marquez admits he wants no part of Mayweather ever again at any weight. Mosley the boogie man who had Floyd "shook" and was WW lineal/WBA champion - ranked #3 P4P. Ortiz the WW WBC champion top 3 ranked @ WW. Cotto the 154 WBA champion/#1 ranked. Guerrero #3 ranked at WW - #8 P4P.

Break down their resumes into 3 phases:

    Pacquiao:

    Hussein
    Ledwaba
    Lucero

    Barrera 2x
    Morales 2x
    Marquez II*

    Diaz
    De La Hoya
    Hatton
    Cotto
    Clottey
    Margarito
    Marquez III*
    Rios (Pending)

    ________________________________________

    Mayweather:

    Hernandez
    Corrales
    Manfredy
    Gerena

    C. Hernandez
    Chavez
    Castillo 2x
    Sosa
    Corley
    Gatti

    Judah
    Baldomir
    De La Hoya
    Hatton
    Marquez
    Mosley
    Ortiz
    Cotto
    Guerrero
    Canelo (Possible/Pending)

Floyd is better, Pacman might be greater.
    Value of "h2h" vs resume.

Pacman also moved up more in weight (Ok he was a malnourished kid in his early pro years, but when both men were 19 Pacman was still 20 pounds lighter)
A Pacman win on the same welterweight-fighter has in my opinion more worth for his ATG spot than a bigger man beating the exact same man ability wise.*

A bantamweight being a welterweight monster is p4p > a superfeatherweight being a (exact same) welterweight monster.

*Example: Leonard beating Hearns is a lesser achievement than Rigondaux beating Hearns as Leonard is the "naturally bigger" man

Not like Manny and Mayweather are far apart in the ATG list, probably 1-2 spots and Floyd might overtake him if he hadn't already done that.

Manny Pacquiao should have a loss to Agapito Sanchez and two other losses to Juan Manuel Marquez. In a perfect world with fair judging and no corruption in boxing, Pacquiao would be 51-7 [Marquez 3x, Morales, Sanchez, Singsurat, Torrecampo] - 2 [Marquez, Bradley] right now.

This website was nothing but Pacquiao praise for the first two years I was here.

Since then, the trolling in favor of Mayweather has gotten bad but nowhere near as bad as when the Pac fans ran this site (into the ground).

Pacquiao is still more beloved on ESB than Mayweather. By a lot.

In terms of why you might see more praise for Mayweather than Pacquiao recently, look no further than recent results. Also, a lot of the boxing fans really like Mayweather whereas a lot of Pacquiao fans are part timers (and I can say that from personal experience conversing with them, and also based on their low quality posts and knowledge regarding any other fights or fighters).

EDIT: Of course Pac is an ATG. People think I'm crazy, but I rate him fringe top 25. People have long struggled at properly judging the then present world of boxing. In 50 years time, no way both Pac and Mayweather are outside the top 25 (unless they lose every fight from here on out badly, test positive for steroids, etc.).
