Did you see what he did to Devon Alexander? Anthony Peterson? I don't think Marquez would beat Anthony Peterson or Amir Khan. I think Marquez was a great boxer, but I don't think Marquez has a dimension that Bradley doesn't have.
His punch arsenal isn't nearly as wide, he's not as accurate, he doesn't exploit his opponent's holes as widely, he doesn't maintain his guard as tight when attacking, he doesn't attack the body as effectively, his upper body movement is more basic, his lateral movement and use of angles is also more basic, and I wouldn't be surprised if Marquez straight up hit harder too. He's just not as dynamic. Marquez would beat Alexander handily, and I could see him outworking Peterson (Lamont, by the way; Bradley never fought Anthony) either when pressed on the inside, or out-boxing him at range. They're about to have their first common opponent in Pacquiao, and I expect Bradley's lack of ATG tools to show when he loses. It doesn't make him a bad fighter at all, but he's simply not as good a boxer as Juan Manuel Marquez. Anyway, here's a follow-up video. Reminds me of what he did in the Tijuana fight. Throw a few punches, the kind that remind you of little kids trying to hit an adult, then bounces off. His legs always look real fresh in training, but there's issues during fights.
:yep Maybe we'll see something a bit new in the clinch though. And that's what I don't understand his cramps. He looks like a beast in training, is fully hydrated, then cramps during the fight. Ariza said he was dehydrated from over-training in the fight fight, which is possible, but I don't think that's it. If he is truly having bad cramps, I have a theory that they're coming from always having to stop himself after lunging when he's getting turned. Shane was circling out non-stop when they fought, and Manny always looked like he was hitting the breaks hard on his lead leg. That would explain why it happened again to Marquez. Constant tension from having to re-align, maybe older age, and possibly tensing from frustration and edginess could be the reasons.
I thought this. He does get frustrated when he's not being allowed to fight his fight, and that burns energy and puts a strain on the muscles.
if he had any brains, that is what he should do. but, hes got to be more aggressive or the judges will screw him
JMM himself said Bradley should circle and counter-punch, but also use pressure combined with movement out of a low stance. Bradley is a good boxer, but he's not half the counter-puncher Marquez is, and would do better to be dynamic with elements of that strategy mixed with his own strengths, rather than force himself to fight a way that might turn out much less than ideal.
LOL at roach simulating bradley's elbow and head . pac needs space to operate and he needs to push bradley out just like what he did to hatton and not fight on the inside.
