erm, im not sure who is saying Floyd shouldnt get credit...but i have to say that at the moment, Pac should get more credit if he should win. I mean Mayweather himself has said he doesnt want people to be shocked should he win because its been done before to Pacquiao!.

The weight issue---put it this way... Pac is no 'little welter'...but is he really a Welterweight now? I mean, we are almost certain he could get down to 140 and maybe if he really really wanted to 135. Mayweather is a fully fledged welter now and could only get down to 146 for Juan Marquez- which ever way you look at it. Not to mention Pac still 'gives up' some of the weight(i.e will probably weigh in about 143/144) and Floyd has physical advantages like longer reach. Of course, we dont know if these things will really turn out to be advantages...and we know Pac could hang with virtually any welter out there...but Mayweather is in a certain class of his own and these things could make a difference.

There are other ways to justify holding (A) and (B) simultaneously. You could just say that Pacquiao became healthy at 122 whereas Floyd was healthy from 130, making him the naturally bigger man. Not that I accept that.

This is the thing people would have no problem putting pac in the ring with cotto, mosley, berto, and a Yuri Forman, because as you said we know pac could hang with virtually any welter weight out there.

So it is not mayweather physical size that is the problem, it is his skill, hence why i dont get all this bull**** about mayweather being the bigger man, when we already have seen that pac can hang with the best of them. That isnt a good enough reason to discredit a mayweather win.

Mayweather is the bigger man, but so was cotto, so would mosley, berto, and yuri be, so why is it an issue with mayweather.

Not at all. It can't be both ways. Either Pacquiao takes a hit for being battered or it's not fair to use those weights as a judge of how small Pacquiao is/was.

Sure, I don't have a problem with that. Floyd is the bigger man, there's no problem saying that. The problem is when people go overboard and talk about Pacquiao once being 106lbs. It's just a stupid thing to say and if people are gonna hang their hat on it, they need to also choke down the names "Torrecampo" and "Singsurat".

Exactly. No other Welterweight would take heat for fighting Pacquiao. Only Floyd has to deal with this sort of attack and it is because, largely, people fear that Floyd might just put on a clinic. So, they come up with arguments beforehand about how Pacquiao still can't lose his "Greatest of the Era" mantle no matter what happens.

This thread is simply an effort to flesh out one of the bull**** arguments that gets used.

Floyd is the bigger man, has a style suited for Pacquiao, reach and height...he said it himself he's "cherry picking" his way to the bank.

Wrong again dumbass the other welters such as Cotto and Mosley if he fights Pac one day get a pass cause they already fought the top welters(Mosley,Margo,Cotto) while fraud didnt, while he only came back to "steal some money" as he said against two smaller fighters that he has almost all the advantages on his side.

These threads are so gay. Some fans don't give Floyd any credit and some fans don't give Pac any credit.

"They won't give Floyd any credit, blah, blah". Ugh. These nuthugging threads are terrible.

Pac is smaller than Floyd. Deal with it. Does this mean Floyd should get 0 credit? Of course not. Sigh.

Isn't Pacquiao the top Welterweight after beating Cotto? Would you prefer Floyd fights Cotto instead of Pacquiao? Where are you going with this?

Furthermore, both Baldomir and Judah have been "The Man" at Welterweight and Floyd beat them both.

Nothing "nuthugging" about it. Pacquiao is smaller than Floyd, but not nearly by the margin that usually gets used.
